I had to write a poem for English, and I decided to do it on my hobby...MTs!

My Hobby


Radio controlled nitro-powered monster trucks
Why? Is it because of the people at the track who can’t drive?
No, it’s the thrill of speed.
The smell of exhaust fumes that make your eyes water.
The raw power of these small engines.
It’s about the jumping.
The crashing. It makes you cringe,
to see your 500 dollar toy hit something at full speed.
Most of the time, they will come out unscathed,
but that one in a million time is now. You broke it.
You gotta make a trip to the hobby shop.
It’s time to spend more money on this toy.
Why do I do it?
After criticism from many people.
Why? Because it’s fun.

wow!!! what a coincedence!!! i had to write a poem for my english class yesterday. i made it about my family though (it was mandatory). but, anyway, it is a pretty good poem. i would shorten some of the lines so that it flows a little better. but other than that, it is a great poem.

I like it (the poem). My Girlfriend/family/and friends are glad I'm in the hobby. It keeps me from "other things" that some of my other buddies tend to do (drugs etc.).... Plus I enjoy the hobby very much. My ATV was costing me/ my mom/ and dad to much money in and out of the shop. So I knew I was gunna have to find something just as fun/funner that could keep me entertained and not break the bank. Now when I can't sleep on the weekends, I just charge the E and go down the street to a Traffic School Driving course down the street with speed bumps etc.... Not that I would do drugs without the hobby, but it keeps me entertained on times that my buddies want me to "join in"....

Yeah!!!! I'll tell that to all the patients I work with at the psychiatric hospital I work at who are so fried that can't even do little things for themselves anymore!!!!

I mean I was guilty of doing some drugs to but thank god I got away from it before I toasted my brain into mush. The best thing is to stay away from them but the choice has to be yours!!

I wrote a poem on rc for school on wednesday. It didn't rhyme. Now we have to write haiku. It could be like

RC, smelly,
Little cars doing big things,
but bills hurt wallet.

Thats cool man I hear ya, alot of people make fun of these types of hobbies and say your still playing with toys. mind you Im a grown man wit my oldest kid in junior high. yet Im the first one to want to make a run to the hobby shop or to get mag new subscription of rc driver in the mail. to be passionate about something is to love and indulge into it which is why its called a hobby! and I love this hobby just as you.. who's with me? lol

ROCK ON! I used to play paintball(jump from one expensive hobby to another eh?) and everyone played it because it was 'cool', it finally wore out to everyone else and I kept playing it. I was made fun of I guess because "paintball is gay" but I didnt care. I do what I do because its fun. If it wasn't fun I wouldnt be doing it.

I hate poems, I hate reading poems, I hate learning about poems. I hate teachers who teach poems, I hate deep thinking while reading poems. I fail english because of poems, I get in trouble because i fail while trying to make poems.
