That's the reason he'll lose acceleration. It takes more torque to rotate a larger tire at with the same force. And on top of that, more torque to rotate a heavier tire.

He'll gain top end because, EVENTUALLY...they'll get up to, or close to the same RPM the stock tires moved. And being a bigger tire, it'll cover more distance in a single rotation than his stock tires.

This is a big if, though. We're assuming that the engine can manage to get them up to that same RPM. I'd wager he could on pavement and flat packed dirt. But in rough stuff or grass, there will be too much resistance, and I don't think the engine could wind them out.

I put the big Imex Swamp Dogs in my MT2 with the stock engine and it turns them good. They are a little heavier than stock tires, but I cut the smallest tread out of them to lighten them and open the tread up a little. I would bet that they will hook up better than big joes or any other tire like it. Definately look into this tire, you will love it. I got hooked on the Bogger pattern in 1:1 off roading when I put them on my Land Cruiser, by far the best off road tire one can buy, which prompted me to buy the R/C ones.

I gained top speed when I put mine on b/c of their larger diameter and they weigh almost the same.
