Default engine "rebuild"

i am going to go get my engine "rebuilt" today, (replacing piston, etc..) and i was wondering what kind of affect will it have? and is it REALLY even needed? its for my T-maxx and i have put in over 20 tanks. please post as soon as you can. thanks.

Unless your low on power and can't tune it. Why bother?


20 tanks is nothing! You could take apart your motor and "look" for worn or broken parts. Also, since a rebuild kit is at least $50 I would rather add another $50 and get a brand new 2.5R motor from Traxxas

ya but if i were to get a new engine i wouldnt get another traxxas one. I'd take an O.S. over that any day. but im not really in the market for a new motor and i have been loosing some power so ill just go with the rebuild.
