Default Just purchased my Savage!

Check it out guys.

Just purchased this from a guy on ebay. Whats great about it, I was able to head over to the owners' house to check it out before I bought it. Let me tell you this...it wheelies on instant. Handling was awesome, engine was tuned towards the rich side, but still ran excellent. Started on the 2nd pull, and this is from the truck sitting on the shelf for the past week. The truck was hardly ran, and it was ran only on grass and on the street. No scratches underneath, but there is a scratch on the top bar and also on the head due to wheelies. Other than that, the truck is awesome. I have to buy a 6 (maybe its 5, i forgot) cell battery charger.

Let me know what you guys think. I picked it up for 400.

That's a nice Savvy... Looks like it may be good competition for my Revo... having a hard time finding anything that can keep up with me. I've dropped my gearing so that I don't do 1/2 throttle flip-overs...

Yeah its definitely a beast. The power is amazing. Can't wait to take it out today after work and have fun with it. I was also looking at the revo, but decided upon the savage at the last minute. I'm supposed to get my RS4 3 SS in the mail today, and if I don't like it, I definitely will get a revo. Those are really fast trucks.

I should change out the gearing to get a little bit higher top end. Right now top speed is around 40. Not bad for a truck lol.

How do you like the masher 40s on the savage? Do they seem too big/heavy for the truck or are they just right?

Yeah, if you have wheelie-popping torque with that Picco, (unless you WANT it to flip on it's lid) you can gear down to get the most out of that powerplant. I just dropped from a 40tooth to a 36 tooth spur on my Revo, and (without radar gun...) my Revo will probably do 50 top speed. (just going by others with stock gearing and the same motor doing 48.5 mph)

LOOKS WISE - they look like they fit pretty nicely! If he's popping wheelies, I would doubt that they're too heavy, but... I guess he can tell ya.

The tires fit great as far as I can see. They do have adapters which were purchased from savage-central. But other than that, I noticed the handling was great.

I may change out the spur gear to get better top end. I would assume with a higher gear spur, I can probably get mid 45's with the setup I have. The truck has been modified to be strong, yet lightweight when compared to stock.

Thanks for the replies!

Thanks Island. Yeah I didn't think it would last so I made sure I went over there to look at the truck. Its a sweet truck and I loved how I was able to check it out first before buying. I can't wait to test it out tomorrow. The truck is ready to haul ass!
