Default Custom chassis plate

well as the title says im looking at making a custom chassis palte for my TNX. but first of all id like some advice and any ideas for things that i could add that the stock chassis plate doesnt have....for example....holes that make u able to set gearmesh.

SO:
1) Any ideas for improvements
2) Any theme ideas or special things i could add

and last but most important: might any body of u guys know where i can get some CAD files of the TNX plates(if they even exsist) or might any of you be able to get a hold of them?

I really appreciate ANY help wotsoever.

ask tamiya for some files, but the best thing to cut the aluminum easy is a CNC machine or a plasma cutter. but probaly dont have either.

i like adjustable gear mesh, i think you should also maybe have cut outs to lighten the chassis even more.

well the chassis will be made out of 7076-T6 aluminium. So i tihnki will HAVE to make cut outs to get it at least as lught as the stock plate.

Isn;t the TNX a flat plate chassis? if so you could make a CAD file of it rather easily.

Yup, very simple chassis design BT. Flat, with the edges rolled up for strength.

If you had a decent CAD program couldn't you just scan a chassis plate and import it to get the dimensions? Of course you could always sit down with a chassis, a good set of claipers, and a pencil and paper and just do the grunt work. If you have access to a CNC machine you could use it with a tooling ball mounted in the spindle. There's so many different ways to get what you want and it wouldn't take that much time, why not do it one night instead of watching TV or reading message boards?
