Compression = power?
I have been noticing lately that the compression on my RB TM323 has gone down a lot. I can still feel a good pinch at TDC but I can turn the flywheel with my finger pretty easily. I have had about a gallon through this engine, and it actually seems to be getting a lot stronger while the compression is going down. Is this cause it still may be breaking in? I happy with the performance, so nothing too urgent, I was just curious.

i can't answer your ? directly, but i just put the fantom .18 in my sportmaxx and yesturday it really livened up on the fith tank after breakin(10 tanks). seems to get stronger with each tank, but yesturday was insane. i can't see a use for anymore power, at least in a sportmaxx with 2wd and a 2speed tranny.

LOL. That reminds my of the other day with my revo. I was running out on my street, and was going at about half throttle. Maybe 20-25 mph. I nailed the throttle and it just flipped on its back and skid about 30 feet . It was pretty cool. Also when I was making a full throttle pass. My truck pulled HARD left once it hit second, and smashed into a curb on about a 45 degree angle. Didn't break anything. Now that's what I call durable.

there is actually a difference between pinch and compression.
pinch is mainly when the motor is new and the piston gets stuck at top dead centre because it is very tight against the sleeve.
compression is the "pop" of the motor when you turn it over.
the pinch will go away after it is run in and thats when the compression gets better to a point.
an engine usually makes its most power when it has had about 4-10 litres through it.
