Default MGT No breaks

So yea, recently i noticed my MGT's brakes arent working so well. I keep playing with them but they have little effect. If i lift the truck up off the ground, give it gas and hit the brakes, the wheels stop, but if i try this on the ground it takes forever. Time for new brakes? or what? Im confused. []

Is your brake linkage tight enough? How about the brake pads, are they pretty worn?

brake pads are ok, the linkage is tight, trust me, you slap on the brakes and try to move the tires they dont budge. I might just get a whole new brake set up soon. :\

maybe your servo is getting weak, and not pulling the brakes hard enough.

I had the same exact problem and I decided to go to my LHS and they put in a hi torque servo...this made a huge difference.

You have to remove the spring and replace it with a piece of fuel line the exact same length. The factory spring is weak. Once I put the tubing in, it stops on a dime and no new servo needed.

Tubing had the breaks working perfectly for me too, wierd Ive read threads from others who didnt have success with this mod and some that did. I think when you replace the spring with tubing its a good idea to tighten the plastic nut so theres very little play, and of course remember to put the nut on backwards otherwise I doubt it will have a significant effect.

no, it goes to all the servos. if you have a 6 volt reciever pack and you do the channel 4 mod you will get 6 volts to all the servos. the battery slot in the reciever cuts the voltage down even if youre using a 6 volt reciever pack.

no, its supposed to route the full six volts to all the servos. also, i just did the fuel line brake mod today and its awesome. i hit the brakes from second gear and the thing nearly squatted to the ground. time to stiffen up the suspension!
