Cant decied what 4x4 basher to get!
I am looking at tower hobbies cause they have the 3 easy payments, theres no other way I could afford one! I dont race and am just looking for a very durable truck, I already have a SS5800 Stampede that I love for bashing cause its so cheap to fix. I am looking for a truck that is good right out of the box, no major needed upgrades.
I want a savage but at 3 payments of 167.66 its too much $ even.
I am thinking the Warhead might be my next best option? Its 139.99 which I think I could swing, it has a bigger engine and seems better than a t-maxx.
The T-maxx doesnt have a 3easy pay so I am looking at the sportmaxx at 123.33, but that doesnt even have 4wd and 2speed, seems like it needs around 100$ of upgrades...
I also would consider a Associated Monster GT that is 140.66
or even the Tamiya TNX at 131.66

I can afford a savage sadly, theres just no way, and I want new, unless you want to buy me a new savage and I can pay 125$ to you montly till its paid lol.
Which of these trucks I listed are the the most durable right out of the box? The warhead looks pretty solid compared to a maxx or MGT
I havent even really looked at the TNX, doesnt seem to do it for me

DodamissC- Thats why I put that in a seperate thread, thank you very much DodamissC you are so very help full... I created one thread to get experiances from warhead owners... And this for the rest of the people, this truck is new and very few people have driven it compared to others. SO please dont turn this in to a petty argument like so many other threads in RC forms...
With that being said...
My budget is around 400$ max, but thats in cash, if I have to pay with credit card (ie online merchant) then I really can put anything on my card over 150 a month, too many other expenses. It would be preferable to spread it out like how tower has the easy pay.

I think your best bet would be an MGT or a warhead. You might want to wait cuase of the lack of parts for the warhead, but it looks like a nice truck.

What are the drawbacks to the savage? And what is the chance of finding a good rolling chassie? I think I could fit it in to my budget if I could space out the costs, ie buy the chassie, wait a month, but the moto, wait, get the rest of the crap...
If $ wasnt an issue I would be getting a savage becuase of the ammount of hopup parts, that or an LST2 but theres no way I could afford that...

Or buy a Savage SS, for 340 dollars. Is that in ur budget? that includes the motor. Just add radio and servos.

choose between the Savage with the .28(Savage ss 4.6) or the Savage with .25 motor(Savage SS)

Factor into your decision what your local hobby shop carries parts for. Be patient, save a month or two, and get the truck you really want. Going cheap in the beginning typically ends up costing you more in the end.
My two cents...For a basher, pick up a Savage.

If your looking for a basher, you should check out the Mad Force. It doesn't handle as well as the other trucks, but you wont break it. Ive had a tmaxx, megatech gladiator, x-factor, rc10gt, and 2 mad forces. That list is in order or durability as well.

My LHS carries alot, Associated, traxxas, hpi, durtrax, no cen, but they carry losi. God do I want a LST2, the more I look at it the more I want it, but I just cant afford 650$!
I am inbetween the warhead and the savage, I dont like the chassie layout of the maxx or MGT, looks like its asking for damage when it flips...
That madforce looks pretty cool, how does the solid axle work compared to the independent suspesnison of all the others? I would guess it could have more articulation... I dont think any LHSs
Id like to see a direct comparison of the warhead and savage...

Articulation isn't that well with the 2-link setup, but the simplicity of its design makes it extremely durable and easy to work on. Like I said, handling isn't going to be as good as the truggies, but I'd rather have durability.
