RE: after run oil, help
yeh after run oil is highly recomended just take your glow plug out and put 4-5 drops in or more and crank the engine over a few time then put your glow plug in. you also can take your air filter assembly of and put a few drops down the carb opening also.

wd40 does not work because it is petroleum based and evaporates after a while. also, wd40 does not have any rust preventing properties. always run your engine dry of fuel and than use a good quality after run oil

I used to work at a Home Depot and a WD-40 rep told me that it stands for "water displacement recipe #40" i guess the other 39 were not that great. It has great rust removers and prevention BUT is not recomended as a lubricant...

wd40 displaces water which will still stop rust and it wont completly evaporate inside an engine ,some masnufactures instructions actually say to spray wd40 into your engine after use.
but proper afterrun oil is better because it absorbs the moisture instead of displacing it.
if wd40 really evaporated quickly why does spraying your car with it stop mud sticking ?

WD-40... The WD stands for Water Displacement. I always use it to flush out the cylinder. It is not, however, a lubricant. ARO is one of those touchy subjects. Some people swear by it, others are opposed to its use. It will help prevent rust, and does a good job at keeping the piston and cylinder wall lubed. I would recommend it to any beginner to intermediate nitro rc enthusiast.
