weights not an issue, on these trucks!
Your running a truck with a killer w/hp ratio, weight is not an issue, Don't get me wrong, I appreciate your point of view, but when you want to take out an oz. on a truck with 2+ bhp, I don't get it. This truck as well as the max, is killer, some of the guys are using roll cage's, and still tearin it up, thats about 1/2 lb. or more.
Your welcome to your opinion, but even race'in, a few oz's ain't gonna win you a race where I race at!

Well, I appreciate both of your perspectives...however the fact remains that weight is the cheapest form of horsepower. I autocross and 1/4 my car, and I believe the rough estimate formula is 10 lbs = 1 hp. I doubt this translates directly to r/c (1/16th of an o.z. = .1 hp...maybe? who knows). But weight does make a difference.
Still...I'll probably get the reverser when I get my Savage. If my "seat of the pants" dyno decides it hurt performance, I'll just get a bigger motor.

I don't like reverse either...
Don't get me wrong, they are nice to have, but there's just too many downside:
1- More weight - weight of the reverse module - weight of the extra servo - weight of the extra bit and pieces required.
2- More headache to fits everything (extra wire) on the very cramped radio box
3- More Drag on the tranny
4- More complicated, thus leading to more pieces that could fail
5- Price
Being a racer, I know every bit of extra weight does makes a difference in handling, performance and the like.
Only my 0.02 Euro

back wards we go
I apprecaite everyones opinion here as well. I like reverse, b/c, I try and setup my truck at home before race day, and I don't have a bunch of room. Plus when you let your friends drive at the house, its a real plus. As for weight, I really don't see where it would make a big dif where we race, in the setup as well. but like I said, everyone is more than welcome to have there say!
