If you're concerned about hop-ups and money, you can probably find some marked down Savage 25s. There's quite an aftermarket following for the savvy, and they have a reputation of being an extremely durable truck.

IF you're lookig for a truck that's EASY to work on, then DONT get a Savvy.. A cheap durable basher is something like.. an MGT.

Believe it or not, my LHS pushes the Tamiya TNX onto people like its life and death. They have alot of more expensive and fancy vehicles to choose from, but all the guys who work there will pick the TNX in a heartbeat if they need the most durable truck. In fact, they had 10 in stock last week, and when I went back this weekend, they had none left. Only issue with getting a TNX is that not alot of LHS's carry Tamiya parts, but if yours does, consider it. I don't own one, but that was because I bought a Revo before I found this shop.

That's what I was thinking... to get the durability factor, cheap shouldn't really be a factor... there's not too many (if any) cheap, durable trucks... If they're decently durable, they won't be cheap... if they're cheap, they're likely to not be durable.

I think the older Savvys are usually seen as hard to work on, not sure about the X though.

If you don't need a full size monster but close. I say buy a Cen fun factor Mt2 for 234. form ehobbies or the Cen nx magnum for anywhere from 259. 00 to 280.00 shipped, also a Tnx, you could probababally find at ultimate hobbies a online store for 309.00 shipped. Not a lot of aftermarket parts and may have to mail order parts but shipping is real quick most of the time. All these trucks have a 2spd and are capable of 40 + mph, and you can bash the crap out of them. Trust me I own the tnx and Mt2 very tough trucks. My 500. dollars can't be beat like them without breaking parts. Drawback no reverse, but who needs it, unless you have a physical disability that limits your mobility.

these trucks listed are both Cheap and Durable

secnd hand might not be a good choice if you are intending on beating the crap out of it. Sure its cheaper, but the parts may be already stressed and breakage isnt too far away. I know one of my trucks breaks a lot now (almost every time I take it out) This is chalked up to fatique from previous beatings (poor old thing is gettin tired) But Ill keep er goin!
