Trashed Madforce - "FUNNY" PICS
Yesterday was a great day.
I finally got my truck up and running perfectly. for the first time, I could go full throttle, do wheelies and donuts.
I was driving on a sprinting track with some kind of gravel surface, with a nice bit of grass in the middle. It was deserted. I could my speed, and on the track, I could drift and slide and wheelspin and other stuff trucks don't do.
anyways, I knew i needed to refuel, so i was going to do another speedrun down the track and come back.
Just at that moment, there must have been interference or something, my car runs off full throttle down a flat 400 foot track at 40 mph. there was nothing I could have done.
Thing that pi$$es me off is that I was going to buy a failsafe last week. Also when i was at the model store, about an hour before, some kid had a buggy, and he was on the same channel as me.
I'm surprised no one laughed at me as I walked back to the store. Ended up being an expensive day, but I'm sure it's all part of the hobby. I'm sure I would have crashed once anyways

OUCH!!!!!! THAT'S GOTTA HURT!!!!!
I know what your response is going to be whenever someone asks "What's the first upgrade I should get for my truck?"
Don't feel too bad though.
There are two kinds of RC'ers.
Ones that have had a runaway and ones that WILL have a runaway.
I don't know anyone in this hobby who has not experenced a runaway or some form of loss of control. Even a failsafe is not 100% proof against loss of control but it is cheap insurance against most causes of runaways.
Good luck with your repairs.

RE: Trashed Madforce - "FUNNY" PICS
thanks.
I'm happy it was a runaway and not my fault.
If i had just been going to fast in a small area and hit a tree because i couldnt turn, then I wuld feel REALLY bad.
Also quite lucky that I was in a deserted area, could have been the park - open space, loads of people, no barriers...

That's some bad carnage man! At least it wasn't your fault, like you said, due to faulty driving skills. It's a learning experience and I wish you luck on getting your truck back in business again. I would consider getting a failsafe or something that would prevent the risk of a future runaway, it just lessens the chances which is better than nothing. Again, good luck!

Sorry to see the carnage. At least no one got hurt.
THis is why I switched over to the Spektrum DX3 radio, and make sure I have a TRS spring on the truck before I run. I know I still don't have a 0% chance of a runaway, but after my first few, I try to reduce the chance as much as possible.....
