questions about Savage 21
That is a d&%n good question. I was thinking about doing the same to my savage.
The stock steering servo is seems fine for the job, the problem lies in the servo saver itself. It act's like it has a hard time turning that hugh tires.
Any info on this would be great..
Thanks,
HVYMTL

questions about Savage 21
The steering servo is a special high torque version tuned for the demands of a giant truck. The new SF-2 servo is rated at 70 oz./in. & .20 sec. speed @ 4.8v (4 cells) or 90 oz./in. & .16 sec. speed @ 6.0v (5 cells). 90 oz. is not bad, Hitec HS-5625MG Servo
is what I am currently using in my savage even with the big tires it will turn on carpet with ease. Just finished installing reverse mod. also updated with hop ups as follows: both upper and lower Alumnium control arms, Hotbodies Purple Shocks, dual exhaust, adjustable Alumnium camber link and 16t clutchbell, will post results soon. Any standard cheap Servo will work with the reverse mod. does not take a lot of effort to operate correctly.
Speed Metal Gear J SPECS:
Speed: 0.17 sec/60 degrees at 4.8v
Speed: 0.14 sec/60 degrees at 6.0v
Torque: 109.7 oz/in at 4.8v .8v
Torque: 130.53 oz/in at 6.0v .0v
Length: 1.59" (40.6mm)
Width: 0.77" (19.8mm)
Height: 1.48" (37.8mm)
Weight: 2.11oz (60g)
