What temps are you running?
I am used to running my engines around 230 degrees F which I think is within a safe range. At the track today I tuned a friends Hyper 7 (mach .28 engine) with this temp in mind, however, a couple of guys who are running big blocks in their buggies are running theirs between 280 and 300 F which seems exceptionally hot. But they insist these temps are the normal running range. Does this sound normal to anyone else?

Between 250-280 is normal, 300 is a bit leaner, but not to the point that it is dangerous. You have to tune it until you feel the engine has the max, power it can get

RE: What temps are you running?
Hi,
When temp gets too hot, the metal inside the engine will wear much faster than expected. Sure it is fast and also high wear. Once too lean, your engine needs to get back to that high temp again in order to be as fast.
Keep it at safe temp, all .12 to .30 engines perform excellent at 95~115 degrees celcius (I am metric guy, sorry), going extreme is another way to say goodbye.[X(]
Thx
Joaquim

RE: What temps are you running?
If mine get up to 280, I'm going to richen it up. I like the range of 220-260. I'll deal with 270 if that's what it takes to get good performance.
