Default NEWBIE HERE: what makes the MGT a good beginner's truck??

What makes the MGT a good beginner's truck? I really like the price of it, but I just need more information on it. also, since Im new, im just wondering, How often do these nitro rc's break. Since im only 13, and most people that i know that are into this sort of thing are older than i am, I want to know how much work do these things need, anyway. If this is not a good rc truck, then what should i get?

1) The truck is very easy to work on when needed
2) It is tough
3) The engine is easy to tune
4) It has good power and speed
5) Like you mentioned, the price is good

As far as how often do they break, it depends on how you drive it. Keep up with maintainence on it (like keeping the air filter clean, use after run oil, don't leave fuel in the tank or engine while stored, check for loose screws or broken parts) and it will last a long time. Don't start out trying to control it at full throttle. Drive only as fast as you can comfortably control it. The best thing for getting started is reading RC magazines and reading these forums.

Yep, magazine reviews will really give you an in-site to the MGT or any other truck that has been on the market for a while. Just type MGT into RCU's search and you'll get feedback from the Product Guide. There are probably reviews on some of the magazine websites also, you just gotta look.

I agree with scotty on the break in too, heat cycle worked well on my XTM .28.

i have a mgt to, it is a great truck and it was also my first nitro. The only thing is i believe they are a little more high maitance, you must just stay on top of it and keep good care of it.
The only other thing i would warn you on is the price of an mt compared to a stadium truck,
Tires
Gas
Parts
They seem to be more expensive in that area, especially tires, they seem to be more expensive. But other than that, they offer way more enjoyment than electric.
Hopefully this post made sense, just got up, still tired.[&:]

mgt's thunder tiger engine is easy to tune..mgt's chassis is the easiest to maintain ..tough truck and can be used as a racer and a basher..

hey nice MGT mate, i just got mine about 3 weeks ago and i also have to commend the ease of the TTR28 engine. Pretty much set and forget hehe. What would u suggest as a rear tower as i would love to get a wing kit in the close future as i love the way they look. CHEERS
