Knoxville,
I have the 8 port in my Savage. I think the 8 port is a great engine for the Savage. I put a 16t clutchbell and a MIP clutch for the MP7.5 on my Hyper. That plus the RB 086 pipe turns the Savage ballistic. It launches so hard. And the top end is unreal. For the money I think it's the best deal out there. A close second would be a tie between the OFNA .25 or the XTM 24.7. Both of these are great and powerful engines. But they cannot touch the 8 ports top end. Until better gearing is available to take advantage of these two's torque, I think the 8 port will reign supreme.

BUGGIES_R_US,
I got the RB pipe from AceHardwareHobbies.(LINK) I am not familiar with the Mugen MBX exhaust configuration. But one of these should work. I just got the component pipe and use the stock header that came with my Savage.
