Welcome back HMK420! For bashing I would go with the Savage X or the MGT,they are the most durable trucks on the market and jump very well. Do some research here on the forums, there are plenty of them dedicated to the MGT and Savage.

I'll throw the Losi aftershock, and muggy in. Lets not forget the revo and tnx 5.2. One thing about the revo, savage, and Losi aftershock and mgt are easy access to parts, exspecially the revo. Im kinda wishing I had bought a muggy, but oh well no biggy.

All are high quality good rides. Good like in staying away from old bad habits. If you need any moral support email me.

If your looking at the Aftershock
start looking at the LST2, you got the cash

I still say revo but the choice is up to you
With $800 you can make any truck great with a few upgrades

what's up, another local guy, not too many of us around here ... I live on the border of Gresham/Portland...

If you're just bashing, I'd get a Savage XSS with that budget (buy online and save $$$) then you can get a nice FM system (or better) and still have money for upgrades..... don't buy into the Revo craze around here [:'(].. lol

Truggy is the way to go now. Losi muggy, cen matrix arena tr, Robotronics mantis. Just do your research, with $800 you can get and hook up any of those three trucks. I have the muggy, once you replace the clutch, it is a fun truck to drive. If I had $800, I would get the mantis and buy a spektrum radio and good stearing servo and still be under budget.

Well, since you have $800... you could look at the aftershock and put $300 into it and spend 100$ on fuel, tools, extra parts etc.

......or you could buy the LST2 if you're planning to keep it pretty stock;

If youre gonna race it, I'd buy the aftershock and go from there since you'll be changing all the stock parts

An LST2 with $150 in upgrades would smoke an aftershock on the track
even if he spent an extra $500 on the aftershock it would still loose

I still think the LST2 or Revo 3.3 would be the best truck for you
which ever one your hobby shop carries is what i would get

Default RE: so i need to get a truck again ..

why???.... thats one of the dummest things I've heard...... the aftershock and lst have the same basic chasis........ most people Don't use the high/low gear set-up on the aftershock, and

an aftershock with $500 could very easily beat an lst2 with 150$ of upgrades

$800 AFTERSHOCK:

truck: $390
lst2 gear upgrades:$50
axial .28 engine and pipe: $180
wheels, tires and hexes: $80
flatpack: $30
upgrade springs: 10$
rpm arms: $40
Lunsford turnbuckles: $20

+ tax and fuel

$800 Lst2:

truck: $640
rpm arms and adaptors:$45
upgrade springs:$10
wheels, tires: $50
tuned pipe:$50
Lunsford turnbuckles:$20
spare parts:$15

+ tax and fuel

........ the real racer would put a spektrum radio in either truck, and change the engine on the Lst2

you decide

The LST2 is Only $568 Not $640....It Doesn't Need RPM or a Pipe to Race.......A Set of Race Tires and Your Pretty much Good to go.......
And Don't forget the Aftershock with the Hop-ups you listed...Still has an AM Radio and Small Axles....

.........you got me there

... but a lot of people still put RPM on their Lst's

.... I guess for $800, each truck would have its pros and cons

but I've never seen someone break their axles

RPMs do have a downside in that they are very flexible, almost too flexible for racing, but people still use them.[sm=rolleyes.gif] If you're going to race with an LST2, use the stock arm's

Default RE: so i need to get a truck again ..

My RPM's are pretty darn stiff Evader--->MGT, not quite as rigid as the stock arms but they don't flex much... the only thing I don't like about them is how low they make my truck sit, not sure if they do the same for the LST1/2 & AS though..... also, you're gonna' have a better chance at finishing the race with them

and... since HMK420 is gonna' be just bashing and not racing, I can't see why anyone would recommend a LST2 or a truggy over a XSS or MGT..

just my .02

From what I have read around here the Savage is a solid truck. Probably would be my pick if I was in the market for an MT.

I lived in the Troutdale area a few years ago. Will probably be moving up near Glendover Golf Course in the next few months hopefully.

LST2 , no need too look further if you want a nitro truck .

The Brushless Edition E REVO (Mid January release date)would be another truck to look at , its not nitro , but the fun factor is way up there .

I just put a Mamba Monster system in my E REVO and it is simply amazing !

Has to be a Savage XL
You'd still have a bit for upgades, and they are massive in comparison to Revo's.
IMO, Revo's are more of a racer than a basher. If you want a Traxxas basher then you buy a T-Maxx
But still, get the XL
