T-Maxx 3.3 Or Savage X SS 4.6
Hi Guys
Sorry if this has been asked before, couldn't find it, I'm looking to decide on a new truck from the above selection. Taking into account, cost of maitenance, ease of maintenance, fun factor, power factor, value for money, EVERYTHING.
Thanks

Whats the real difference between the Revo & the T-Maxx anyway? I'm just looking for something to bash with, not into racing.

For bashing go with the Savage XSS. It's the toughest truck out there. The earlier Savages had their issues and were a pain to work on. The Savage XSS has taken care of those issues.

Tmaxx = too much plastic.... There's really no comparing the two when it comes to toughness and overall quality.. The XSS is a hopped up truck, stock.....
(I kinda' like the MGT too )

which one comes with the better rtr package (reciever, battery, servos, etc)? pretty much in the same spot as about 90% of the people on this forum, just can't decide what to get...eventually most of the stuff will be traded out, but until then i dont want to be left stranded.

The Savage XSS is a kit, you'll need to buy the radio / electronics / battery separate, you can find really good deals on FM (or better) on ebay though, around $100 give or take.. (ex: JR XS3)
Most RTR radios aren't too great, but the TQ radios from Traxxas are especially horrible IMO.

i was going to go with the rtr x. i have a dx3 reciever sitting around so im gonna throw that in right away. im gonna pillage my other cars for servos to get the better stuff in there. i just would like to beable to use the rtr if i ever needed to. i really don't want to do a build right now, who knows, maybe ill change my mind. is the xss that much more improved than the x?

whats the combo deal from tower hobbies like for the Savage?? (http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...1p?&I=LZ0805**)
I bought a 2nd hand T-Maxx 2.5 that was really stuffed up, the previous owner sold it in 'excellent' condition, but the thing is really stuffed. I finally got it running after about 30hrs work over the past two weeks but just found out I'm going home in 4 weeks (South Africa, currently in Australia), an can't take it with due to weight restrictions, so I thought I'd buy a new one and have it sent to South Africa. Kinda new to Nitro, and not sure if the above combo is good or not.

The combo will get you started, but you'll feel the need to upgrade sooner than if you just bought better stuff to begin with. For example, the steering servo that they provide isn't the best quality in the world and it is kind of slow and weak for a Savage. It's stronger than the one that comes with the RTR version though...

I was most impressed with the LST2 at the hobby shop, he was running out side and was real fast out of the box. I won't spend that kind of money but man that truck could run. My next truck will be the savage.
