spur gear on warhead?
Help! I have had my warhead for 1 week and I have only been able to run it once! I have melted 3, count them 3 spur gears!!!! I think I have the nut snugged down like the manual says, and I am confident that the meshing of the clutch bell and spur is correct. Can any one help me if you have had experiece with this? I just got back into trucks after 3 years of flying planes and I'm already frustraded![:@] Thanks!

If you pick up the truck while it's idling, do the wheels start spinning? If so than your idle is to hi. when the idle is to hi, the clutch shoes wil engaige the clutch bell, heat up the clutch bell and it in turn, will melt the spur gear. when you pick up the truck or idle it on a stand the tires shouldn't turn, maby a few little twitches now and then but not turn.

Mabey you should consider a better spur gear. If you have the original Warhead then i suggest the Warhead EVO spur gear. I have one and it works great, no problems yet and i hve owned it since Christmas.

Is it melting in the center? if so then the slipper is not adjusted right. The slipper pads need to be installed just right and make sure they are aligned. the nut needs to be tightened all the way down and backed off 1/8.

RE: spur gear on warhead?
Well I think I understand why I've melted those spur gears!! The idle stop screw has a big chunck out of the end of it and it hangs up when you try to screw it in or out, thus the high idle and the melting. Thanks!!
