Default new stampede questions

Hi, I am probably getting a stampede, so I have a few question and I hope you guys can help me out,

1) what are the most common parts that breaks ( my lhs doesnt carry stampede parts so I would like to order some spares)

2) I am thinking of getting this packs http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXCUH3&P=ML are those any good?

3) there is any 7 cell packs that fit without or little modding?

4) how much run time should I get from a 3000 pack?

5) does it wheelie stock on 6 cell?

thanks in advance

Default RE: new stampede questions

HI
1) what are the most common parts that breaks? Wheels casters are the only things i've broken so far. Some recommended upgradeds are RPM bearing carriers and 5X11 bearings 2 per carrier total = 8, RPM wide front bumper. I also got spare a arms and caster arms.
2) I am thinking of getting this packs http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXCUH3&P=ML are those any good? No idea since i've never tried them, i would suggest an 8 cell 4500 MAH battery off E-Bay. Makes the pede ALOT faster! You can modify the battery box by cutting it a little to fit them nicely or just used a battery strap to hold them in, i use a boot band because i haven't gotten around to cutting it yet.
3) there is any 7 cell packs that fit without or little modding? Yes there are 7 cell packs but again i suggest the 8 cell batts. MUCH faster then 6 and 7 cells!
4) how much run time should I get from a 3000 pack? 8-10 minutes maybe? 4500 mah will give you 10-15. Maybe 20+ depending on your driving style?
5) does it wheelie stock on 6 cell? Never run it on 6 cells because it's to weak, it wheelies like a maniac on 8 cells though! I bought the Swami wheelie bar/brace for it and i love it.
thanks in advance

Its kind of a tub style battery holder, the rear esc plate and a front hold down keep the battery in. The only modding you have to do to fit a SxS pack is grind out a few little tabs in the tub itself.

It's simple once you buy it and go to install the battery you will see exactly what should be grinded down OR add a spacer under the ESC tray and raise it up by using a simple few washer. Problem solved.

Things that have broken on my friends stampede. Keep in mind this is not the xl5.

Body posts broke which required the whole upright to be replaced.

Shock caps blow off like crazy until he loctited them (upgrade the shocks or aluminum caps will solve this)

Bent knuckle hinge pins.

Cracked the body in a few places and at the posts. Its really thin.

broken knuckles front and rear.

Other than that its an awesome truck!
