the only way to explain it is maybe asking people which is their favorite truck to drive? my favorite truck is the lst2, easy to tune and comes with a boat load of extras and a basher at heart.

anyone else have a favorite truck to contribute

my fav truck is the monster gt, been ultra reliable to me from the coutless hard hits its taken from bunged jumps, lots of failed backflips landing flat on the head lol

My pick would be the MGT! Go to your LHS and see which one they support. Their are plenty of online resources to fill the gap if they don’t support the truck of your choice...

Good luck!

like i said befor you need to pick the one that stands out for you , i have the mgt the cen nem and genesis, 2 savages, a electric stampede, lst2 and i am probably forgetting something . like i said the fastest truck out of the box that i found is the lst2 but for durability their all strong and wont break parts as long as you dont hit a wall at full throttle.

pat you are probably right , its either going to be a good motor or a paper weight. it was one of those impulse buys for only 130.

My favorite truck is probably my GST 7.7, BUT i do have a LST2 coming ...AND i haven't really run my FG MT much YEt but that may take the cake also. So all of those trucks are awesome. I aslo had a Savage SS 4.6 but i just sold it, it was a good truck but i'd recommend the LST2, or the GST 7.7.

My favorite Electric truck is the E-Savage, but i kind of enjoy my E-maxx Wheelies like a maniac but it's brushless now and has tons of hop ups so it ain;t a regualr POS stock e-maxx.

Not much.. I personally wouldn't get either, as I am opposed to the idea of buying RTR trucks with extensive laundry lists of necessary upgrades..

The Aftershock seems like the earlier Savage X RTR(the newer X RTR has a diff upgrade kit and possibly other upgrades as well...) - you hear good stuff about them, but mostly only from people who have upgraded them rather significantly.. - whether preventatively, or after breaking things..

And Jombo, wasn't talking trash about your engine - just seems I've seen a small flood of aggravated posts recently about tuning and quality hassles... When tuned right it's obviously a beast..

Carfreak, you want a tough basher that you can hop up. I would HIGHLY recommend the Savage X SS - you can start upgrading right away as you build it with good electonics, servos, etc.. - heck, even some extended TVP's, sell the engine and get something else, etc etc... Or get the RTR and upgrade over time - though in the long run I think this route is more expensive...

The LST2 is a REALLY nice truck too - though whether it can stand up to long-term bashing yet I can't say. It's big and fast and handles great and comes with a good radio. I seem to come across a lot of people(proportionately..) in forums though who have had lemmons...

On the budget side I would consider the MGT - big, has a .28 engine, cheap, easy to work on, etc etc...

Revos are also an option I guess - don't know much about them though...

dude i dont care, besides i know you werent. i herd the same stuff you did with this motor and have seen posts that say to remove the shimms for the fuel you use and some that say not to[&:]. so i opt for removing the shims and using 20% and the recommended shims for it.like you said its either a screamer or garbage and at this point i am doing every thing i can to give it a chance.
wish me luck[sm=thumbup.gif]

whats the difference between the lst and the aftershock
As far as I know the aftershock is an LST (not LST2)
it has a different engine, and I don't think it comes with reverse.
Try and find a comparison of an old LST with and LST2 and it will give you an idea ofr what an aftershock is.
The good thing is all LST2 parts will bolt on.
