Default "Go" Engines??

These engines are being sold here now in Germany, and I'm curious to know if they are just rebadged SH engines. They all sure look like it..

There are a 3-port, a 4-port, a 6-port, and a new 8-port.. I've been hearing all kinds of different things - but nothing definitive.. Everybody seems to have heard this or heard that.. On the one hand the original CEN truggy was a Go engine, and was crap, but on the other I've been hearing that the Go company is basically trying to bring Asian engines up to an Italian-quality standard, and that they're even supposed to be RB-copies...

Take a look at www.rc-autoparts.com under the engines.. This shop used to sell a variety of different engine types - but only sells the Go brand apparenently.. The last engine on the list is a blue headed, 8-port 28, which looks like the new SH 28 LRP Spec 3 equivalent.. - which I didn't know was out yet.. Could somebody take a look and confirm??..

And if they're not SH, what are they and are they any good? Thanks...

Go to:

www.rc-autoparts.com

Click on "nitro motoren, zubehör".

Click on 2nd link "Big Block....."

ps, €129 for the red-headed 4-port pullstart is a good price for Germany... If I could find out more about it I might be willing to try it(eventch in my LST2, though I'm currently very happy with the Mach.. Til now 'been wanting an Axial 28RR, LRP Spec 3, or Picco 28 - in that order.. This Go thing would be the cheapest though...)

The block doesn't look like it's SH based (doesn't look like mine or the LRP anyway)... not sure.

Those are definately not SH/LRP/XTM/Dynamite-Losi engines based on the blocks shown. SH based engines have more than the 1 fin in the section near the front bearing for support/cooling

They also don't look like the older TOKI style crankcases...

They're made by Vertex engines. the Vertexes i've seen/run have been utter crap, but apparently a lotta folks like the Go engines.

Take that as you will

Well I just ordered the Axial 28RR... Am more willing to be a guinea-pig for that than for these things... Especially given that the Axial was way cheaper(with Tower's discount and slow shipping - €120 all up... Cheaper than the original Axial 28, which would cost €140 in German prices..)

Patrick, you're right about the prices.I only get the essentials from Germany and everything else I order from the US. Oh, and about those GO engines, I know a guy who had one and said the one he had was very powerfull but the quality wasn't that good.It died in a savage after 2 gallons.
