venom on board temp guage

venom on board temp guage
are these accurate as a temp gun my temp gun broke.well got broke and i picked up one of these.my raytech gun on this same engine when properly tuned would read 250 260.this venom on board reads 290 to 310 i have a good tune and pleanty of smoke and it takes a drop of water 5 to 6 seconds to boil off.just wondered if any one else had trouble with these.

No trouble with mine. It will read different on different fins or if it gets turned around on the head so its closer to the manifold; but thats true of any onboard temp reader.
I set mine up by taking the temp with my gun and then adjusting the venom by moving it up the fins until it was closest to the temp gun reading. Usually there within 10 degrees of eachother and that works for me.

yea had the same problem temp gun shows 220 venom shows 300 . try moveing the sensor to the front of the motor so its 180 deg from exhaust
