Giving my MGT to my Brother-In-Law going to Iraq (PIC)
If you've read the MGT thread, you know whats going on. For all of you that have not, heres what Im doing:
My bro-in-law has already done two tours in Iraq and just got his orders to return in late September. He is an exceptional marksman, beating out the best snipers in recent scoring competitions and they asked him to join the 3rd brigade combat team, 187th regiment; The Rakkasans!
I wanted to give him something to keep his mind off of going back so Im giving him my MGT. He had an RC10T as a teenager and definately loves rc. I bought a new body and painted it military tan with the 101st screamin' eagles logos on it.
CTDAVE, a fellow RCU member, was kind enough to donate his NEW MGT engine for this project as mine needed a total rebuild and funds are a bit tight. I cant thank you enough man!!!!
Anyway, heres the truck with the new body test fit for the pic. I ran out of paint so only 1 wheel is done but you get the picture. Let me know what you think.

Heres a few pics nearing completion. The body is cut and fitted, the wheels are done, and its as clean as it needs to be.
I still have to pull the flywheel from the old motor and fit it to the new motor and break it in...

you know what they might do if you send it there to him. They might take it from him and strap a couple of pounds of c4 to it and drive it into hostile territory. But it probably wont happen.

I saw someone's signature on here, that said "Stand behind our troops, or feel free to stand in front of them". I think thats a great thing to do, I wish I could do something like that, but I don't have the funds to donate a whole truck. How bout a goofy Idea, like see if we could get something going, with a pay pal, to be able to donate a few bucks, to build, or buy, a few more rc's to send to our guy's, so they have something to play with.

It's great to see what your doing. I wish I had the funds to send something over there or be there myself, 9 years of cronic pain will slow you down alot tho. Keep it up, you deserve alot of respect for what your doing to make someone feel at home when there so far way. Thank you and everyone else who is trying to make life liveable for our troops.
