Default Strongest ESC?

I have a JR Z8550 I used to have in my old T-Maxx before I sold it long ago. Of course I took it out before I sold it. It used to snap the T-Maxx wheels back and forth like they were X-mod wheels. But anyway it is broken and I am looking for a new STRONG servo.
In your opinion, what is the strongest servo?

The strongest servo you can get is a JR 8711. It has 403 oz. of torque.

Thanks, What size is it? Will it fit in an E-Maxx without modification?

MY GOD!! THATS ALOT OF TORQUE FOR SUCH A LITTLE THING! AND I THOUGHT HITEC SERVOS WITH 333 in. oz. OF TORQUE WAS ALOT!
Personally though, I dont think I would even need a servo that strong. Its not like I am crankin around big 7 1/2 inch tires. I run a Hitec HS-645MG without a servo saver on my E-Maxx, and it will crank the tires around on concrete, thick grass, sand, and gravel with not problem what so ever.

WOW, thanks but I guess that is a little [sm=wink_smile.gif] stronger than I needed.

That Hitec has 133oz torque with 6v. My JR Z650 has 142oz of torue with 6v. But it is not turning the wheels as snappy as I would like on the carpet where I am testing it right now. How many volts does the EVX 14.4 put out to the servo? Maybe I need a 196oz or 250oz servo. I just want the wheels to snap left or right no matter where she is sitting.
Quick note here: the steering linkage is very free with the servo disconnected.

Not to start anything, but I thought ESC was an Electric Speed Control, not refering to anything servo.

Hey pythonfan,
Cool. Can't wait to see it. What BL system are you thinking of?
I am still waiting on my Traxxas heat sinks to come in so I can mount my large fan over the motors and have a decent cooling system for them. I have already mounted a small fan over the esc. I also just got some bigger wheels and tires with offsets for it. Not much else yet. I like my E-Zilla alot.
What servo do you run?

well i had the 9xl in my e-zilla but it was last run at the beach so everything is corroded and the esc was shot so I'm staring fresh.

I was looking at the hv4.5, but for 300 is a little much so i was gonna go with the hv4.5 motor and a mamba max esc which would cost 250, and with towers coupon it would be 225 which is more in my price range. I was talking to hands without shadows, and he is helping with it, i was thinking of going with a 7xl or a 8xl this time with the mamba and still use the 14.4v set up or 16.8v setup since the mamba max. I'm still unsure on how its gonna be done, but i do like the hv4.5 tho, wait until 2:15 and you will see the e-zilla with a hv4.5 system in it.

As for the servo I'm on stock, but I'm getting another one of those cen servos they work so good.

But so far mine is gonna be 2wd only for now. and only a 4 shock setup.

well i had 4wd, but i locked my diff one day cause i was gonna make it into a crawler but i got side tracked, and I'm not gonna buy a week e-savage diff, if i can find another hb one maybe i will make it 4wd again. but I'm on a small budget, if you saw my truck in its current state you would be like what the **** happened to that. sooooooo.

I use this in my savage x ss and it works fantastic!

Just picked up one of those from ebay fo r$19.50. Thanks for the tip. It seems pretty strong. I will put it to the test tomorrow. Right now I am dropping in a Feigao 9L and a Castle Creations Mamba Max esc Can't wait till tomorrow morning.

Thanks,
I have everything back together. But I can't seem to get the ESC to arm. I have changed my radio throttle from norm to rev, and back, that didn't do it. I have adjusted the EPA, to different points. I have made sure all settings of trim and mix are at zero. Not sure what else to do. Someone help.

Thanks,
I didn't know there was a way to reset the esc. I have looked at the book and I don't see where it says anything about that. I also don't see a reset button on the esc itself. I am 90% sure the Feigao 9L is a sensorless motor and I know the Mamba Max esc is for sensorless motors. I will try a different model on my radio just to see if the settings on that model will work.
