How many of you have the annoying problem of every time you go to run your RC, some pesky little kid comes out? Neighbors even? Have a problem with people always asking stupid questions like, how fast is it, or how much did it cost, or can I try? Well if you do, post up here! Down with the stupid people of the parks! Who cant stand the question askers? Well, every time I run mine on my street, I get a bunch of neighbor guys and their kids watching and asking the same questions every time. Well post up if you have neighbor or pesky next door kid problems.

it's no big deal. I can't stand when they ask to try or when ask how much and you tell them they look at you like you'r from MARS. At the park I have found it best to look for loose dogs as some can catch an rc truck. I have been screamed at and told to get out or I'm calling the cops
. One guy told me I hit his car and I have to pay for it, I was like dude it has yellow pait rub on it that was the school bus you jackass. The best thing was this guy told me I could not run my boat in this lake, I was like so who are you. Then he gave me this big story I was like whatever and ran my boat anyway. The cops came ask what are you talking about to the guy then left. The best thing was the cops were talking to me about the boat how fast, how much, what's the range all that good stuff.

I don't mind... I would ask the same questions, and I'm almost 28 years old... (other than "Can I try it?") If I can help another person get into the hobby that has brought me so much joy and fun... great! I've been driving my truck up and down the street for tuning... and I heard a kid down the street say "Cool! It's a radio controlled truck! It's FAST!"... kinda made me smile.
As for cops, most are cool, as long as you're not being obnoxious. The truth is... the trucks aren't much louder than a lawn mower or a weed eater, which I have both... I've only had one issue with a complaint.. and it was because I was on private property (didn't know it was private until the guy came and told me)... most people I'm around think it's cool... and when it rides a wheelie... and flies down the street... they are like... [X(]... I love it when it hits second... they're like ... [X(][X(][X(]

You guys are what gives RC a bad name. If you chased my 5 year old with your truck, getting the truck stomped on would not be your problem. I would stomp you. Shame on you all. The hobby should be promoted, not demoted. When someone asks questions answer them with respect. They just might end up getting into the hobby. When I go fly, I always take a trainer, and a buddy box. I don't even fly the trainer anymore. But, if someone shows interest, I'll take it up and let them try it. Same with the tmaxx. If they want to try I'll let them (in an open space of course).

ok wat if the kid wants to get chased? thats wat they ask me. all i do it burp the throttle jus till they run and then jus coast where ever they went.
i did hav alot of the usual questions where i first brought out in the neighborhood. but now no-one comes up to me cuz they no i wouldnt b able to em over the engine, the adults dont mind me drivin it(maybe cuz it does hav the same noise as a weed eater and mower).

whenever someone asks me questions i answer them the best i can, i have a 1:10 scale buggy with the throttle limited that i take down and let them have a go if they ask nicely, and if i'm driving i just ask em if they can wait till i finish the tank of fuel and then i'm willing and happy to have a chat, so far two people i've spent some time talking to have bought there own and i now bash with them, if i can get people into the hobby just by being polite then i'm all for it.

I usually like the questions and attention. I like to share as much knowledge as possible about the hobby. What ticks me off is people who annoy you while driving, I mean, be repectfull, ask questions when I pit or shut off the motor. I mean, I am just trying to enjoy myself[8D]

With that said, I also answer any questions... if they ask to drive it, I tell them no, if it's an adult, I make sure they understand the cost... and tell them if they break it, they fix it.

well as a father of ten children and grandfather of 22 grandkids i try and be acomadating when it comes to questions and carry a couple R/C mags for them to look at and have given several away to people. I also carry a stack of my LHS business cards and hand serious people a card and send them to look .Sometimes it gets anoying but remember when you were a kid and the curiosity you had for all things powered. i just figure if some one i can get started in is a fure r/C freind who i can run against or with.

I don't Hate them, ( mainly because i was one) lol.
I was breaking in my T-maxx and like 5 kids going to football practice from different familys stared for like 20 mins me going to half throtle, stop, turn, half throttle, stop, turn, over and over agian. There coach must have been mad because they were probably REALLY late. One kid even watched me clear a flooded engine for like five minutes with the greatest intrest.
Can't wait to see there reaction when i start bashing!!!!![X(][X(][X(][X(].

I don't mind when adults approach me with questions about an RC. I usually shut off the truck and let them have a look. Usually turns into a nice discussion and I have gotten at least one guy into the hobby. But little kids can be annoying. I have sevral neighbors with little 5-8 year olds and when ever I run nitro they come running form every nook and cranny. Then they ask "are you gonna share? are you gonna share? are you gonna share?" I have been getting away with telling them you have to have an RC licence for now Lol. Then of course with little kids around I slow down alot cause if I hit one of them I would feel soooo bad. Some of them even start to chase the truck or get there walmart specials out and try to hit myne. Then I usually get frustrated and go in. [&o]
I do have one rule that goes for everyone. No one drives!
You just have to respectfully decline there request. They will understand.

I love it when adults, and the 13 yo and up kids come around and ask ?s, but I can't stand it when the 5-10 yo's, lilke to try and chase my truck. I can't get it through thier heads that if it hits them it WILL break thier ankle. I usually have to pick up and go in when that crowd arrives. They like to play chicken, and jump out in front of it coming down the street cause they know I'll turn sharp, and flip it, so I don't hit them, that gets me pizzed.

So hit them once so they can learn their lesson.... Not 20mph but at 5-10mph, maybe they will learn to show some respect.... Too many kids these days are brats..[&o]

Well, as this was stated by some other members, so I will clear this up for myself.
I love it when kids above the age of 13 (im 15 just so ya'll know) come out and ask reasonable questions. If I happen to be driving my RC18B, and I feel that they are mature enough, I will even let them try it out. But kids like under the age of like 12 are just brats most of the time, and they dont even care. All they want is to be annoying, stupid, and wreck stuff. I know about 5 cops, because my dad was formerly one, and I got all of them into the hobby. I think its great when I can get an adult into the hobby. I have had several instances on my street where these stupid kids ages 5-11 years will chase my truck, then walk away, and then dart into the road in front of it. I have ruined the neighbors mail box post about 3 times because of this, and my friend, was unlucky enough to have one dart out and he swerved, flipping his LST2, and it basically flipped right into this kids knees, and broke both of them, as well as breaking the left femur. But some of the stupid kids parents come out and yell at me if the kids start chasing my truck because they say I am putting them at risk. Last time the kids mom yelled at me for that, I told her, "F*** YOU!!! YOUR IDIOT KIDS JUST COME RUNNING OUT HERE, DART IN FRONT OF MY VEHICLES, AND EXPECT NOT TO GET HIT! THEY ARE DARN LUCKY THEY HAVENT YET BEEN HIT, AND THEY ARE PUTTING THEMSELVES IN DANGER, NOT ME!!" She called the cops on my, and some random cop came, and he was really nice to me and explained that I was right, and I was doing nothing wrong, and that the kids were putting themselves in danger and the mother was also by just letting them run around. But I have ended up just starting to run right after it gets dark (my nitro truck that is), because its alright around here until 10:00 pm, so I just put head lights and tail lights in my nitro truck and start running it right after dark, and the kids are in bed by then, so its makes for a much safer running environment.

I have thought about taking the old spare radio, no batteries of course, and say you can drive it while I check out this radio, all the while im driving it. I like talking to people adults or kids about the hobby. I was running in a closed in basketball court/tennis court hauling ass, a guy drove by stopped his car jumped out, and said wow that thing flies, I got a kick out of that.

It's not really very bright to announce a possible [link=http://www.hsus.org/web-files/PDF/felonycruelty_map.pdf]felony[/link] on a site that supports Yorkie Rescue | Humane Society at the bottom of every page...
The person who suggests hitting a child with a R/C is simply a child themselves and a detriment to the hobby. Anytime you are behind the controls of your R/C you are responsible. If you are not mature enough or have adequate facilities to accommodate these responsibilities please leave the hobby and don't destroy it for the rest of us. [&o] I run in public places all the time and it's punks with these attitudes that will remove that privilege from me. If someone is walking their dog in the park I pull it in till they pass, if someone has their kids with them I pull it in, it's not rocket science.
