The pinion gear is skipping over the ring gear. [link=http://www.monstergt.com/articles/transmission_diff_shim.php]This[/link] is the fix

I've had the problem in the past and pictured below is what happens if it goes unchecked. Since shimming i've had no problems whatsoever.

From the look of the pinion you can do this process without buying a new ring & pinion set. It is however recommended for ALL diffs, whether they are new or not (they are not shimmed properly from the factory, it's not something that develops over time).

To shorten the cup you don't even need digital calipers, just file away until it fits

i think the same thing has happened to my t-maxx, front diff,,, i use i high torque servo for my brakes,, and everytime i hit the brakes i get this loud crakling noise from the front diff,,,, will shimming it solve my problem!! thanks,

i also checked if my diffs were worn out just by holding the rear wheels tight and turning both fron wheels,, after a certain amount of force was applied the diff started to skipp!!

what should i do??

If you've shimmed it properly and it's still clicking it's probably be too worn and needs replacing.

You have checked it's not the other diff that's now clicking haven't you?
