The information I have came from my lhs, they are reliable. I was asking about the new monster gt 8.0, and I was going to order me one, but they know I like savages, and told me to wait that the 5.9 will be out soon. It will come with the 3speed and shiny pipe, and a new radio. That is all the info I have.[X(]

I like my savage XSS alot, but HPI needs something that can be a little more raceworthy on the track. Though with their success in the market, and their reputation for being the toughest RC with 4 wheels, im hard pressed to think they'll change too much on that truck. Just wishful thinking from a racers perspective i guess. lol. Either way, i'd love to see any new Savage truck. They are great monsters.

Are you serious? I was thinking of the mgt 8.0, but not anymore, if the savage 5.9 will come. I like savages. They are way stronger than the mgt. So how big the 5.9 engine? .32 or more?

Are you nuts DONT buy the MGT 8.0 you say are you high? If you are looking for something better then the Savage get the Nemisis or the Genesis or the GST. They are stronger then a Savage, ALOT larger then a savage, have a good radio, and aren't to expensive. I think between the MGT and the GST the GST looks to be better just because you get much more for the money. I love associated and espicially the MGT but for $500 they should have redesigned the chassis, thicker a-arms, buggy type axles, and much better shocks. All that seems to be improved was the drivetrain, motor and radio.

the Nemesis and GST are tougher than the new MGT, the Cen trucks dont need rpm arms or knuckles the diffs are bomb proof the driveline is built for abuse. they have a cam style servo saver bigger gas tank, better quality plastic shocks with real resivors. better quality 23mm adapters

the real question you need to ask will be between the 2 engines as far as performance and tunability

I wonder what else HPI is going to do to the Savage in addition to the larger engine? I'd like to see a flat pan chassis or at least a wider version of the TVP setup.

The TVP design is fine. They could still improve on it alot, while still using the TVP's They could take some tips from the warhead, and lower that CG, and make it bumpstart friendly. They also desperately need new steering geometry. That truck just doesnt steer much. If they had a center diff option, that would be hot. I've always liked HPI products, im sure they'll do something awesome. I just hope its more than just a savage with a new motor. But really, theres no proof of this anywhere on the web. Right now its all just a rumor. But we can have fun with it anyway. lol

and the hell fire takes the same place in the truggy world as the savage does in the MT world, much slower then the best of the competition there, except the hellfire isn't the strongest truggy there ever once was...

there was already talk of this in the engines forums. someone already came across the engine. there were pics posted in the thread i believe. look up the 5.9k and it should come up.

Ya. I wouldn't waste my time waiting. It's just a rumor. If you want a Savage now, just get it and be done. If we know anything about HPI, the new savage will probably be close a a year away[&o]
