I pretty much narrowed it down to these because i feel like exploring other manufacturers if you know what i mean because i already own a traxxas

Ahh ok. I would get a MGT but thats just because I have a savage and revo and my m18mt was tough as nails.

From what I've seen from poking around the forums periodically, the MGT seems to be a strong basher. +2 on the MGT.

I have all three listed in the poll(X SS Savage), and for me, the LST2 is the clear winner..

The Muggy is also awesome, but it does get a minus point in my book because if you buy new you have to dump the wheels and possibly get a better clutch..

The LST2 is the biggest, fastest, handles the best, and surprisingly enough, at least as tough as the others... ALL you really need is the Dynamite engine-brace.. OK I haven't really broken anything on the Muggy either - but have had a clutch issue or two.. I was skeptical of the LST2 at first, but it has proved itself over and over. The New Era roll-bar increases its toughness considerably I think.. But yeah, a few guys here seem to get them and have weird issues.. Don't know what's up with that.. Dynamite engine-brace, and threadlock everything, and you should be good to go.. I wouls also get the New Era roll-bar and RC-Raven springs - those plus the Dynamite engine-brace are my top-3 LST2 upgrades...

The Muggy is the best looking IMO..

For the Muggy I would really only get one as a roller..(here in Germany though they're coming new with DX2.0's for a good price, so here anyway you could buy new and sell the Spektrum and wheels and have a new roller for €250-€275..)

Anyway, the Muggy is kind of a special case IMO - because of the clutch factor, I wouldn't want it as my primary truck, or if I only had one truck.. I like it though as a 2nd truck to play around with..

The Savage is a Savage - I like it, it's fun to mess with, do wheelies up and down the road, etc.. But honestly, Savages are not as tough as they used to be.. Some people don't like me saying it, but the plastic quality is not as good as it used to be. I've broken an upper A-arm on a 3-foot baby jump, turnbuckles, shock and turnbuckle eyelets round out within a gallon, etc etc... I should point out though that I might be to blame for some of it, simply cuz I've been running offset rims since the beginning. But still, the minor things that have gone wrong were inexcusable IMO.. The Sav for me is just a red-headed step-child to beat on.. It's still fun and a good solid truck(I'll always have one I think - cuz in the big picture they ARE tough, and you can kinda' throw'em around - I've just had some minor things go wrong on mine.., and I am convinced about the plastic thing.. I never broke anything plastic on my Savage 25 - just the diffs and tranny exploded.... ) - but it's just not as good as the LST2 IMVHO... But defo a contender depending on exactly what you want to do...

EDIT - uupss, I see you meant Savage XL.. That's an interesting X-factor.. I would definitely consider it for a first bashing truck.. Nobody knows yet how it's gonna hold up though.. Looks to have a potentially high fun factor...

Basically, they're all in the same league and you'd have fun with any of them - same goes for the new MGT 8.0 I think... Just get whatever appeals to you more...

Here're some of the last vids I made of each...

LST2 ...

Muggy is more for racing... doesn't have much of a "bashing" background, although I've heard that truggies make good bashers... *shrug*

SavageXL doesn't impress me much. They've used the same tired design since before my time (in R/C)... which has been almost 4 years.

LST2 is more innovative than the others... pretty tough. Haven't had mine in any really hard bashing situations, but I'm hoping to be able to soon!

I won't comment on the MGT, since all my experiences with them have been total crap....

The MGT guy I bash with wants to get rid of his... and get a Revo... and/or LST2.

RenegadeRevo, the link to the desert basgh vid cuts it short. All it shows is you warming the truck up over that same jump and it cuts out before the bashing starts.[sm=cry_smile.gif]

And definately Savage over the other 2 since you dont have MGT.

Hmmm.. interesting... I've got a TON of bandwidth for it... it shouldn't cut short... *shrug*

10x? Wow... 'cause I didn't see anything in his video that was really impressive. Now, if you said freez's videos were... yeah, I could see that... freez was crazy... even Airmaxx23's videos... but those MGT videos are pretty equal to what I did... now, I remember a good video he put out a while ago... with some good air... that was cool... but these last few have been pretty "standard" bashing... nothing crazy or shocking... sorry to say, but 10ft vertical isn't "big air"

Oh... and BTW... it's RenegadeRevo...

<------ look over there... top of the column... you'll see what my name is.

Consider this a warning to ALL members participating in this thread.

We, the moderators (well, I speak for myself, but I'm sure my colleagues agree), are really tired of cleaning up flame wars in the Monster Truck Forum created by This vs That, This is the best, That is the best, Which is the best.

This thread has not crossed the line yet, but is already looking like it might. Anybody starting a flame war, OR contributing once a flame war has BEEN started, will be hearing from the moderators.

Keep it civil in here please, and on topic.

i run a SAVAGE,REVO,MGT,& LST2,for all around bashing the MGT has been my top choice, but the LST2 is quickly on its way to impressing the heck out of me and dethroning the MGT

polls like this are pretty...useless tbh :s

most people will just vote for what they own or would like to own! lol ..only way your gunna get answer is doing your own research which dont include polls about "which is best" just google any questions you want answered, usually if im looking to buying summit new i would look for reviews & forums for that particular product to read any good/bad points about it then compare it with rivals
