I will be doing my best to run it and get a review up asap! I'm looking forward to seeing what this thing can handle.
I don't think they are out yet.. They ship to stores in a few weeks.

I like the big opening behind the engine, no more exhaust header problems! I looked through the parts list and compared it on Tower's site, not much new stuff. Looks great though! BB

I'd imagine it goes through a tank of fuel pretty fast though, considering the large engine.

No problem.
I'll keep an eye on the time for fuel.. and how long a tank lasts. There is a TON of room behind the engine.. it seems like the perfect place to wrap a larger fuel tank around.. maybe a nice L shape.
I'll try and take some video also. Charging stuff up, going to get ready for break in.

Now knowing all the half tank lean problems on the other savages why in the world would they use the same tank on the XL. Is there something that we are doing wrong in preventing this problem or do they just not run them long enough to even notice the sky rocketing temps.

I don't think the dealers get them for a few weeks yet.
This is an early pre-production run, or one of the very first off the production line that magazines are allowed to review, take pictures, stuff like that.
I have a lot of friends over at HPI, helps with the spy shots. Take the guys to dinner a few times, get a few drinks in them.. next thing you know your allowed to order a early production model. ) (j/k)
The break-in process is about to start.. going to hit the track in the next 24 hours.. see what it does.

A quick update. You can read the full update [link=http://www.BigSquidRC.com]HERE[/link], but the short version: I had it out at the track, and it drew a good crowd. When you look at, and touch the truck, it seems like it should be a little bouncy, but it wasn't. It handled the big jumps just fine, and the torque was awesome! This thing was a rocket, and I could pull wheelies when I had the traction. After several hours of jumping as much as I could at the track, overe jumping, hitting walls, flipping and rolling, I haven't broken a thing. A few more days of testing before the review, going to really start to push the limits.
