looks nice and quick that, excellent suspension and bump riding for a 1/10th too. Shame it's a Kyosho, it'll undoubtedley fade into obscurity like everything else.

Wow, looks really nice! I don't understand why support is so non-existent for Kyoshos when there's KyoshoAmerica in socal. It seems their buggies are the only popular RCs, but if buggy support is available, why isn't support for their other RCs?

The MFR seems to be an in-between size...larger than most 1/10, smaller than most 1/8 MTs...kind of like Traxxas trucks like the T/E-Maxx and Revo. I like the look of it and if MSRP is under $350, that will be sweet!

Looks good, but why is Kyosho so late to the party?

Late to what party? Certainly you dont mean the monster truck party... They've had several.

Kyosho has been off the MT radar for at least a few years now. In that time, HPI and Traxxas (and Losi) have been very busy pumping out new and improved MT products while Kyosho has been asleep.

Odd, I didn't know the Mad Force was discontinued.

Kyosho's focus has never been on being the latest and greatest in the MT market...at least not in the last decade. They've got more than just RC cars, you know.

I wouldnt say Kyosho has been asleep really. They just havent had the big hit. They did the madforce, then re-did it as the ready set version, then did several versions of the Giga crusher. They just havent been popular.

Ok, maybe Kyosho was merely taking a siesta. Strange that they'd take another shot at the MT market when there is so much brand loyalty amongst the HPI and Traxxas fanatics, of which are the vast majority of MT buyers. Who is Kyosho trying to get to buy this truck? It's going to take something really over the top or innovatively new to get your typical Savage or Revo guy to even look at it, let alone buy it. If the aftermarket doesn't embrace it, it's as good as dead. That's not taking anything away from the truck though as I'm sure it will be a quality piece. We shall see how it all pans out. One thing is for sure, Kyosho's marketing team has their work cut out for them.[8D]

I think the MFR MAY have a future in MT racing but seeing how MT racing is dying idk and I've never seen the truck in person so I'm just judging by the pics.

Who are they trying to sell this truck to?

Any newbie who likes the idea of getting an MT for 100 bucks less than a Revo.

Yep, ROAR just pulled the plug on production monster truck. When ROAR does that, you have to wonder what's up.

Did ROAR ever actually ADD anything to the MT class? Not really. They added rules, thats about it. They dropped MT, and gas truck because turnout was low. That can only be blamed on the people not racing them. Most of the racers i know that are no longer in MT, have switched to truggy, and buggy. It sucks for guys like me that really like MT, but what can ya do really... But in all fairness, locally anyway, the only big class is buggy... But anyway, back to the topic. That MFR should do better than the previous Kyosho installments. The madforce was great fun, but it was VERY expensive, and the solid axle design left it NOT handling soo well. The Giga crusher, well... It was an oddity as well, with the twin motors, and then it just never took off even in the single engine version. Though i do find it kinda funny, how most MT buyers want a truck that handles good on the track, but then never show up to race... lol. Anyway, the price point alone is a big bonus with this truck. We'll see how it does. It still reminds me of an LST, with the chassis braces, and the big bore shocks. Sorta like a little brother.

Like Thermal said ROAR never really had anything in ROAR. It may of if more then two manufactures would of made mt's that were worth racing. There is still RC Pro and club racing. If those fail then I guess No Limit will be recieving alot more MT entry's.

Just went to the LHS and saw they had this thing.. Took a closer look at it.. Kinda' weird coming from Savages and LST2's, etc.. The A-arms ARE incredibly thin, and the plastic is very flexible.. I could practically bend the end of the bumper back to the body with my thumb.. Either Kyosho knows what they're doing and it's reasonably tough, or .., well... I don't know.. My Kyosho onroader is very tough though..(and I've had some pretty massive crashes..) Price here was €379.. The little 1/10 truggy thing though was only €235 -looks good, has the same engine, etc... The LHS guy was trying to tell me the nifty starter thingy and steel clutch bell and all that was worth the price difference.. But yeah whatever...

The starter-thingy is kinda' nifty thoug - the glow plus is like away from the engine or something...

I didn't buy it!!.. Just took a closer look.. Just snapped a couple pics with my cell phone..

To be honest though, I think for cruisin' around I'd take the DSX or whatever it's called - the little truggy brother of this thing.. Center diff, same engine(but with pullstart), same threaded shocks, etc.. But for €235, as opposed to €369 for this.. That's a BIG difference....

BTW, one thing I forgot to mention.., pretty impressive on the MTR is the ground clearance. Pressing down on it, it seemed to go down further than I expected.. Shock action seemed pretty nice..
