Default Help! I want this engine to run good.

My last four engines have been crap. My sirio .18 with 1 quart of 18 percent break in fuel will be here shortly. It is coming from tennesse and I live in denver. It should be a little rich for this altitude right? Is one quart enough break in? What would you do?

doesnt high altitude mean the oxygen in the air is less then it would be at sea level?

so woudlnt you then have to add more "air" to the air/fuel mixture?

there are two methods of engine break in.
the one we all know which is to idle the first tank of fuel, and the for the next 4-6 tanks take it easy on the engine.

there is a new method that ive been hearing about that totally contradicts this "old" method.
the people who use this new method claim that the initial tank doesnt get the engine hot enough to properly seal the piston and sleeve and thus creates an improper sealing from the low temperatures.

there are many articles on this new method, but i always just follow what the instructions say when i get a car or engine.
im sure in a year or so everyone will be doing this "new" method but who knows.

I promise there is 21% O2 there just as there is 21% O2 at sea level.
At a higher altitude you need to set it leaner.

then why do they bring okygen to the top of mount everest when they attepmt to get to the top?

i dunno but 21% in either place sounds good to me.

Oxygen still makes up %21 percent of the "air" no matter what altitude. It's just that the "air" is more dense at sea level than at the top of Everest.

Kind of like water. Water still has the same number of hydrogen and oxygen molecules, but hot water is less dense than cold water......

I live up in Winterpark and yes the farther you go up in altitude the less air to burn (do to the lower density of the air). When I ran my car up here for the first time it did ok on 20%, in Denver it ran much better w/20%. Then I changed to 30% and then it ran much better up here at 8000ft elevation. Also at higher ele. the weather plays a part in tuning, on cool, cloudy days the air is a little "thicker" than on hot, sunny days. So on cooler days you can lean it out a bit (not much though, I would say an hour or two on your high speed needle).
