Default Need Help w/ Savage Order

So far This is what I have

1 Savage $380
1 El Camino Savage body
Savage Dog Bones (Chrome Heavy Duty)
1 Savage Hi Pro Air Filter w/ extra foam

Is the Air filter I listed any good?
Wbat is the best filter?

Is there anything else I should order?
Should I get the 11 fin aluminum Head for $30?
I can do some upgrades later but im wondering if this is all I need to have a good running savage?

Reverse modual?
Aluminum head?
Stronger Servo?

Also, What else will I need with this kit to get going?

What kind of gas?
Glow Plug?
Glow Plug ignitor?
gas bottle?

Please let me know as I am new to nitro.

What should I locktight?

i would get a stronger steering servo like a hitech645mt or comparable..
20%Nitro
You need glow plugs i run A5, a glow plug charger, fuel bottle

Then go out have fun and when something breaks then worry about upgrading, because things will break.

how bad is the stock servo? Do I need a special battery pack?

So with these couple things I'm getting I should be all set?

U wont need the dogbones. I ordered from MegaNitro also. HPI sends 4 extras in the box, they should last a while.

You won't need a "special battery pack" to run the truck, but either get some rechargable batts or a hump pack for it or you will have to spend a mint on AA's!!!

Default Batteries

Oh yes the battery thing. The 5 cell hump back is the way to go. You will need a "special" charger for it if you get the NIMH but its worth it. The AA rechagrable are NOT good because they only put out 1.2 volts, you can only install 4 cells. AA alkaline are 1.5v, you need the power (volts) for the truck. You will come out ahead in the long run with the 5 cell. Dave

Default Dogbones

Maybe I overlooked them but I've been wondering... Where are these freebie dogbones? I found an extra filter, some body pins, & some little stuff but no dog bones.

The lastest Savage 21's have them in the box. I bought mine 3 weeks ago and they were there. The kit was right from the distribitor to LHS. Maybe they ran out of extras? Dave

i think im going to order from savage central instead to avoid tax.

they only carry titanium dogbons for $28 and from the sound of it i can wait for the dogbones.

is the stock filter good enough? im going to be running the truck in sand.

what else should i get for the truck? Ca I use a regular 6 cell battery pack like i use in my electric cars? id rather use disposable batteries since i will be camping

im going to buy the el camino body too.

besides the body and a fuel filter what should i get? should i stick to purple?

Forget the body for now and buy the motorsaver air filter. You will need it in the sand as the stock one will clog up easily. Also a 6 cell flat pack will not work in the savage as there isn't enough room. Check the store at savage central, O has a couple of 5 cell hump packs that work great. Remember to get a charger for the battery pack as well.

Buy the 5 cell hump pack and charger from savage central and you are all set. As far as locktite goes, you should lock down any screws that go into metal threads. No need for a stronger servo for now, I have had no trouble with my 2 savages.

You will have to have some way of charging the batteries unless you want to go with disposables. The motorsaver filter is one of the best if not the best and color choice is a personal preference so you can make it unique to you.

I went to your link at savage-central and that is not the motorsaver filter. I did check at extremercmotosports and they have them. Here is the link http://www.extremercmotorsports.com/...=HOME:SAVAGEUP

Buy the HPI motorsaver air filter. I don't know about the charger so I can't answer that.

hmm someone else just recomended i go with the aluminum 2 stage, you sure the cheaper motor-saver is better for sand?

do i really need the humppack? cause it looks like its 50+ for the humpack with a charger and for only 1.2V more?! im trying to spend under $460 on this whole savage thing.
