Twin-engine monster trucks.
I remember a long time ago seeing all of these twin-engine trucks everywhere. I always wanted one but back then I didn't have the cash so I am wondering what are all of the twin engine trucks out there. What are your thoughts on them? Thanks!

RE: Twin-engine monster trucks.
They're very hard to use. Each engine must be tuned exactly the same or one will do more work which could wear out the clutches ($$$) and it costs for for maintainance (clutches, nitro, after-run oil, glow plugs...), and the engines will wear out and it's twice the price = expensive, and it's like driving a fat beast, and it's expensive, and there aren't many parts for them except for mostly the manufacturers website, and they're expensive.
Yeah, they kind of went out IMO because of the price and because engines like the LRP Spec 3 have gotten much more powerful and very reliable for a low price. Don't need two HotBodies engines anymore to match one LRP or Picco! Also, an LRP is much cheaper than two engines, despite being $180.

RE: Twin-engine monster trucks.
If one engine is stronger than the other it will not put that much wear on the other, the slower will have less "load" to handle and will help the other one.
They automaticaly help each other..
Heres mine last summer:
Even if i had one slightly rich versus the other one it was still a LOT stronger than running just one.
if you cant tune and run one piggy rich so it cannot rev then yes it will most likely happen...
But i agree a single strong engine setup will be as fast if not faster than a twin setup with lets say poor .26

Here is a pic of teh Savage when it was just redone for actual road-worthy running (it sat as a shelf queen for some time.) My Savage is post # 2837 of this page (scroll down about halfway).

Despite it being somewhat of a hassle to tune like you guys said, the fact that it has two engines is enough to still buy one. I mean two engines just looks badass!

I think because of the fact that nitro engines use clutches...it does not have to be tuned the same. unlike electric motors...

RE: Twin-engine monster trucks.
Dual engine trucks are a bit of a pain but VERY, VERY satisfying when they run well. This is a Giga Crusher DF that I spent the better part of a year fitting two Axial .28s into. It took me a while to get it running right, but it is so much fun. The sound is incredible. I can't even explain it, but it IS worth it. I still would like to get a Ofna Titan Dual Engine truck sometime.

Where are they all at now? I was looking at the new era sight and it looks like they don't sell the kit anymore? I want to build one and make my own chassis.

[TD="class: alt1"]I just purchased a vintage Kyosho USA-1 that was supposed to be ready to run. No luck, the truck motors spin, the steering is not very reactive. THE PROBLEM is that while both motors perform as they should there is no power getting to the wheels. So, engines spin well but neither front nor rear axles spin. PLEASE HELP.
