Problem with Savage.
Am having trouble with my Savage as of late. When trying to start it up, it tends to require quite a few yanks on the pullstart to get started - after started, the engine will immediately rev very high, then higher, then higher, then sputter and die. I've tried everything I can think of here including setting all needles back to factory spec, replacing glow plug, checking the fuel line and tank for leaks, adjusting trim settings, making sure igniter is charged (always a plus!) , etc (probably a few things I can't recall of the top of my head This is all with the stock 21 engine in it btw.
I've completed break in just fine and it was running like a champ afterwards. I've probably put somewhere around 15 tanks through it thus far.
I'm kinda fresh outta ideas here and wondering if anyone out there with more experience than I (which isn't saying much believe me guys heh) might have some ideas on it?
Appreciate any and all replies

Just to make things clear: are you SURE that your throttle servo is not reversed?
If the engine is revving with the carb at idle, you have a BIG air leak somewhere.

Nope - I actually put in a new servo for the steering not long ago, and checked everything under the hood that I could while I was at it - the throttle servo is working just as it should (to my knowledge) - couple of weeks ago it was working dandy and the throttle servo's not changed since.
I was curious about leaks myself, but it *seems* that the tank itself will hold pressure. And the lines check out alright. I might try changing the lines to be sure, although I do not believe that to be the problem =/

check for leaks in your tank.
Submerge your tank in water. Keep your thumb over the fuel line, and blow into the pressure line. If you see bubbles you have an air leak in the tank.

dmzamora: Erm - ok uh, pretend for a moment that I'm an idiot and wouldn't know how to go about checking the engine *itself* for leaks (hypothetically speaking - yeah that's it How would one go about something like that? I'm not adverse to removing engines and have pretty much torn this truck apart before and put it back together so that's not a problem on my end - I just dunno how to go about checking for a leak in the engine
cemeb4dk: Will give that a shot and see if I get some bubbles out of it.

Did you try and adjust the idle screw at all?
I know my engine did that and all I had to do was adjust that?! Just a though and hope it helps.

Make sure your carb isn't loose, and that you have no oil leak on backplate or needles.
Check your idle screw, if necessary reset it to factory defaults. Do the same with your mid needle (3 1/4 turns), and low & high needles (3 1/2 turns), *in that order*.
Be careful, after resetting mid, hold it with a screwdriver when closing low needle. When you feel that low needle starts to move mid needle, stop closing and open it to the default, always holding mid needle.
Remove your fuel tank and lines, and do what cemeb4dk said.
