Sadly, the USA-1 NC (Nitro Crusher) are somewhat out-dated...
Kyosho started making it in '92 (no I'm not kidding, I have a back issue of RCCA where they test it!)...
And the GS21-R engine are a peice of dogsh........
Otherwise, if you know how to properly shim gears it's built like a tank!

A TANK huh ? That it is. Dated too, this one has been sitting since my son was born and hes in school now, but you got to figure, what is a RCMT made of anyway ? I knew what ever i bought back then would carry with me though my life. But I havent seen the latest RCMTs yet either, ie T-Maxx is looking pretty competitive.

I too would like a four stroker on board. I need an engine replacement anyway right now. Does any .21 fit ? What does ? [link=http://home.comcast.net/~rebelbrowser/graphics/index.html.jpg](my dessert page)[/link]

Well...we did't do the four-banger...to much confusion about what pipe/header ect we had to get...

We did however fit a NovaRossi .21 in there

It was a bit tight though...but I think that one could fit either the center diff or the diff gear (the big one) from the Landmax 1 and throw the counter-gear as far as possible...I'll have to check that out sometime...

The tires are, from the left, IMEX JumboMAXX, OFNA Monter Pirate, stock Kyosho, all are mounted on OFNA 19mm Monster rims...

Here are some detail pics of engine mounting...and a pic showing the USA-1 cruching my DT-10 []

That is not the way we mounted the engine (we kept the counter-gear since top speed would have been about 80 KPH otherwise)...I don't have any newer images though...

I have one (2 actually) and they rule Maxxes and Savages on the track. I love it.

The USA 1 was one of my first 8scales about 12 years ago and I still have it today, with the right mods it can hold its own against all the newer 8scale stuff out there. I have broken very few parts on mine since I have had it.
