Savage Throttle Linkage Problem
1 Attachment(s)
The bellcrank on my Savage's throttle linkage broke... does anyone know if there is an aftermarket (possibly aluminum) bellcrank out there? I rigged a sheet aluminum bellcrank, but I don't think that it will last.

RE: Savage Throttle Linkage Problem
GPm makes alloy steering cranks.I have a set on my Savage and they've held up very well.

RE: Savage Throttle Linkage Problem
I'm looking for the bellcrank on the throttle linkage. With all of the cranking it receives against the return spring, it would be nice to find an alloy one.

Oops hehe I guess I should have read that a little better. How did you manage to break that?Does your radio have an End Point adjustment? If so you should adjust it so it doesn't stress the crank. As far as an alloy one I haven't seen one but you may be able to make your own using something like this http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXS483&P=7
You could cut one end off so you get the L shape but I wouold just replace it with the original one |
RE: Savage Throttle Linkage Problem
It could have just been a bubble in the mix when they molded it, I don't know why it would brake either. I'm going to order a stock one, but I thought for sure that there would be an alloy one out there.

RE: Savage Throttle Linkage Problem
That bell crank has the special shank. You could possibly use a 90 degree servo arm, with a brass or aluminum sleeve cut to an appropriate length to ride over the screw.

Thats what I was thinking as well.

RE: Savage Throttle Linkage Problem
I ordered a 90 degree purple ofna arm...
Anyways im going to try the purple ofna alum one, I just hope its not too big but I think it will fit. Ordered a Dynamite long servo arm in purple to match :) BTW I broke mine too, but its not suprising since I also Bent an aluminum shock tower, my roll bar, Busted a hole in my Hayes Header tank and totaled the bracket that was holding it. My LED's all survived once again though! |
