Cool pics. How is the GT holding up?

RE: awwww, wook at da widdle baby........
I kinda like this truck & the Kyosho Mad force. But I have a few observations that I got from the in-depth review of the AE truck in the new RCCA.
The suspension is a dead copy of the Maxx. Not a bad thing-that seems to be one of the Maxx's big assets. BTW, what suyspension setup is "BETTER" for a MT (not including rock climbing)-- independent, like this one & the Maxx, or solid axle, like the MadForce? The bulkheads, however, and the way they attach to the chassis, look just like the Maxx too (though there are alum. inserts where one of the arms attaches). If everyone keeps carping about the Maxx bulks, I can't see how this wouldn't be MORE fragile, as it's a bigger, heavier truck that will stress things more in an impact. Durability wise, I can't see how it's gonna be ANY better than a T-Maxx. Lastly is that it seemed a bit slow. Top end it 32mph, and I don't think the reviewer said it was super quick off the line, either. The fuel tank is cool, and the tranny/engine layout looks sturdy. Dean |

Take a look at the genesis!!!!
Look how much bigger it is then a 1/10 scale. http://cenracing.com/cars/genesis/pic/feat24.jpg |
RE: awwww, wook at da widdle baby........
what is that a 1/5 scale!!!!!!!!
|
RE: awwww, wook at da widdle baby........
i think is just a 1/8 and next to it is the mt2 which is 1/10 and not much smaller than the t-maxx so its gotta be a enormous 1/8

RE: awwww, wook at da widdle baby........
Hey that Genesis looks like an extended Savage:D

RE: awwww, wook at da widdle baby........
renegaderc - Does it wheelie easily? My wife is trying to decide the Associates or Titan or some othe MT that is REALLY big. But she wants a lot of wheelies.

Completely stock, it's not a wheelie monster, kinda long. 40 series tires it will, or a picco .26 :D This picco lifts it up now pretty effortlessly. I didn't mess with it stock too much, but with stiffer suspension springs, it probably would wheelie with the stock motor.
Here's another pic after it had a growth spurt last night. |

for the monster gt why dont you remove the grey plastic resovoirs. i read in a new rc car action that they are just looks and do nothing to help shock performance. just a thought for you, nothing else

RE: awwww, wook at da widdle baby........
size means nothing!
put that beast up against a stock tmaxx on the track and the maxx will spank it! |
RE: awwww, wook at da widdle baby........
I believe the GT would hold up well against the T-Maxx on a large track but if it is tight and technical I would be interested to see if the GT could turn as well as the Maxx.

RE: awwww, wook at da widdle baby........
I'll be racing against a very hopped up small block t-maxx this weekend. If I were to race the MGT, it would be setup totally different. Right now it is just for screwing around with, which is why I like it "big". I'd never race with that body and those tires. Talk about unnecessary weight. As for the piggybacks, they will be coming off as soon as the proline suspensions arrive, or I get a bug up my ***** to put on the 1/8 scale shocks. Large tracks this thing will be giving a t-maxx a run for it's money. Small tracks, not sure yet. It does handle quite good though given it's size. If anything, the MGT will always win in a tangle with a t-maxx on a corner. That's one big advantage, no pun intended.
As for the CEN, time will tell what it really is. Even CEN doesn't know if it's a 2 or 3 speed according to their own website. They have both listed. The truck next to it isn't even a monster truck really, it's smaller than a t-maxx which makes the Cen look even bigger. It will be a typical 1/8 scale monster truck like the Titan, MGT, Dirt Demon. |
RE: awwww, wook at da widdle baby........
only way the MGT would hold up on a track is if it was technical, not wide open, because then the tmaxx could hold speed easier and slow down less. the MGT would need a more powerful servo also to handle the tight turns, but thats where i think it'd accel over the tmaxx. The wides stance would make it so the MGT doesnt have to slow down in the corners (like the terra crusher) while the tmaxx would flip if it did so. Kuma posted the perfect video proving this. what does the stock steering servo have for tq? the TC had a 111oz servo for steering stock.

lynx- nicely said...my T-Maxx would stand up against it untill it ran it over..But size isnt everything..id rather have a T-Maxx which is not very small and alot faster than others than a very large, slow, one.

if i wanna see a piece of crap in stock forum, ill visit traxxas's website [:'(]
hate to tell you, if you raced an MGT, Terra Crusher, or Dirt Demon (anything with wide suspension stance) with your tmaxx, you wouldnt stand a chance just becuase you will flip if you even try to keep an ounce of speed. |
RE: awwww, wook at da widdle baby........
Look - if he is proud of his in stock form so be it...
|
RE: awwww, wook at da widdle baby........
if you know how to drive and tune you wont be able to flip a tmaxx... and if it is a tight teck. track then all you have to do is lock the rear diff. and then you can "power slide" around all of the tight turns!
to drive around a track with a locked diff you need a high level of skill! but once you can do it then you will fly around the corners. |
RE: awwww, wook at da widdle baby........
I lowered the suspension for handling corners better myself. Can take corners at almost WOT without flipping....
