RE: ThunderQuake Vs. NitroQuake
well, a thunder quake is a nitro quake with 2 speed and reverse, and the Tq's tires are wider and just a little shorter. basically, its the exact same truck.

RE: ThunderQuake Vs. NitroQuake
I love my tq and I haven't even finished breaking it in. Quality kinda sucks scratches and dings ect. I have seen complaints about screws falling out ect but mine seemed to be loctited every where. For the money it kicks my maxx's ass and I could probably run it over just for good measure. I willtake 2 speed and reverse over slightly larger tires any day.

RE: ThunderQuake Vs. NitroQuake
biggest problem with the thunder quake is the axles are too weak for the big tires and the spur gear is too thin ... but at www.extremercparts.com they have much better quality parts for this monster of a truck ... also they will be selling thicker spur gears after the 1st of the year ... other than that it is a nice truck ... a little weak in the low end with the stock engine ... but that can be upgraded easily ... i have had my tq for over a year now and love it ... slowly upgrading parts here and there ... but that goes with every truck ... i think for the most part it is a very well built truck ...

RE: ThunderQuake Vs. NitroQuake
thinking about buying the TQ. it's available now for $299. is it worth the money....i really like the size of it, but i don't want to buy a lemon and what about parts support??? also, is it sluggish because of the size
i have an e-maxx that i run on 7-cells and it is pretty fast...never clocked it though...wonder if the TQ is slower or faster.... |
RE: ThunderQuake Vs. NitroQuake
Hi, the TQ is a bigger, better more up to date kit than the NQ. The TQ offers a VERY GOOD value for your money and a very good bang for your buck.
Performance wise "stock" it is lacking a bit (with it's stock low hp/tq engine) but with a engine/pipe change it can really fly and with savage/maxx sized tires it can be a competitive racer. Parts wise Duratrax offers and has a VERY GOOD warranty and service dept. WE have a few in our club and guys are happy with them. one of the guys has a twin hyper .21 TQ that works very well. http://forums.nitroextreme.com/index...rum&forumID=14 |
RE: ThunderQuake Vs. NitroQuake
a guy at the extreme site forum had his twin xtm pro 24.7 tq clocked at 72 mph .... that is twins ... i just bought the xtm 24.7 for my tq last night and was told i can expect mid 50's with it ..... not bad for 120$ ....
