RE: Cen Mt2...

sorry but no it wont wheelie. it may if you play around with the gearing or put a larger engine in as i plan to do at some piont with my MT2.

RE: Cen Mt2...

no wheelie:( ......... can you put t-maxx tires and wheels on it??

Nitro7-inactive 12-03-2003 02:33 PM

RE: Cen Mt2...

.... and do the tires just not have enough traction or what? why wont it wheelie

RE: Cen Mt2...

You can put any 2.2 wheels on it that have a hex mount. As far as doing wheelies out of the box, it wont. You have a four wheel drive, seven pound truck with a clutch. if you put a different clutch set up and have it tuned perfect it may pull up a little bit. Gears can make a big diff, but you will lose top end doing that. So, do you want wheelies or do you want fast? That is a trade off in any car or truck, model or 1:1. Upgrading the engine will give you the best of both worlds, but it comes at a much higher price than gears or a clutch. Dont get me wrong though, the MT2 is an awesome truck. you will not be disappointed.

RE: Cen Mt2...

so... a twin engine mt2 might be able to pull a wheelie? if it can get traction:D

mecky33 12-03-2003 04:20 PM

RE: Cen Mt2...

Put one engine at each wheel, that way you can spin them all and throw some mad rooster tails. :)

on a serious note though, you can buy a .21 conversion kit for the MT2. but it comes with a large engine from the start, so to start with i don't think a .21 is really necessary. My MT2 is so fast that I cant run it on the road without dropping my suspension down.

RE: Cen Mt2...

cool.... maybe i should get an mt2 and put twin 21's in it:D

there's no such thing as too much power!!!! might need some new tires though......

RE: Cen Mt2...

Just wait till Cen releases the Genesis and put the .46 in the MT2. Talk about frame twisting power.

Nitro7-inactive 12-03-2003 04:43 PM

RE: Cen Mt2...

yeah... i think the twin mt2 would be cheaper.. and might not strip the gears... i think the .46 is too big! it looks like a .21 is a little big

Nitro7-inactive 12-03-2003 04:48 PM

RE: Cen Mt2...

it does 45mph with one engine.... think what it would do with 2!!! 70-90 maybe? need larger pinions with the dual too...:D

sounds like trouble... kinda like the menace 21.. what do you think it would look like after hitting a brick wall?

RE: Cen Mt2...

It would look like the front tires are missing, and the front frame section was bent. But it would look pretty cool right before the wall. If you gear it a little higher and run it on road only you can get probably 55 or so out of it with the stock engine. I think dual .21's may be a bit over kill though. For serious power, I am sure you could almost squeeze a .25 in it. Then it would be flipping over any time you touched the throttle. :D

Do you have any info about the genesis, as far as release date, price, and what not? That thing looks seriously awesome, I drool when I see it.

TRY PUTTING IN SOME STIFFER SPRINGS LOWER GEARING ON CLUTCH BELL AND SOME METAL CLUTCH SHOES AND REDUCE THE WIGHT OF YOUR TRUCK IF THAT DOESNT WORK BUY A STRONGER MOTOR.

mine wheelies all the time and it next to stock (only a few mods)

RE: Cen Mt2...

If you can get a T-Maxx and Savage to wheelie (which isn't hard), then you can get an MT2 to do it too. Last summer at a race in the monster truck class I saw a Cen MT2 and it did wheelies like nuts, driver told me he used 70wt shock oil and a Sirio .18 and pretty much everything else was stock (though I think he changed clutchbell gearing) and he finished 2nd behind a .21 converted T-Maxx.

I don't really bother but my Nitro MT with .15 CV can almost do wheelies, so you can just stiffen the suspension and lower the gearing and have a slightly more powerful motor (a Megatech .16 should be plenty).

RE: Cen Mt2...

Dosnt it come stock with a tuned pipe? or did you add a better one?

Will a tuned pipe help you wheelie? (i think it will. Not sure)
