t-maxx question

i have had my tmaxx a couple of days now and i notice when i come to a complete stop it starts jercking and clicking like it is tring to get into gear....what is this?...how do i fix it?

RE: t-maxx question

Idle it down a little...thats all it is. When the truck gets more throttle it kicks into gear. It has a clutch that when the motor crank spins faster, it engages. Then when the RPM's come down, it disengages.

What do you do if you have the idle out all the way, and it won't come down anymore? I still need it to idle down a little more, and It is no longer effective.

Yep, when my t-maxx brand new I thought there was something wrong with it too. But I took it and showed it to the LHS guy and he said it was normal, it's nothing to worry about, and it has to do with the reverse gear. I've heard that if you put a forward-only setup in your t-maxx, it will not jerk/jump like that. Congrats on the new T-Maxx.

Try richening the low speed needle and it will idle lower.

RE: t-maxx question

mine has never done that. well it did during break in a long time ago but i just turned the idle counter clockwise and it stopped. maybe your throttle trim is set too high? turn that left. my trucks throttle started to stick for a while though way down low on the rpm scale try sticking your finger in there are pushing on where the low speed needle is. to close to slide in the carb. if it dies or stops idling high thats your problem. as for fixing that i just took some wd 40 and sprayed it in there and soaked it untill it loosened up again. no problems since

I just put the forward kit in my maxx and it stoped the jerking so it has something to do with the reverse in it.
