RE: whats a starter box
most race oriented engines, in hopes of reducing weight and increasign horsepower, do not use a pullstart or roto start mechanism. These engines will require an outside source to help them get started. a starterbox is a box with a motor attaced to a rubber doughnut that helps jumpstart then engine by turning over the flywheel. A starter box is normally not able to be used on most monster trucks, with the exception of some 'truggy' type.

I just bought a starter box for my MT2.Do i ahve to get keep the the pull start on my engine?(its a .16)

RE: whats a starter box
The pullstart will have no relevance to the use of a starter box. You can use the box with the P/S still attached. Removal of the P/S is usually done on ST's and Touring cars to save weight. But with the over weight of a MT already, the weight reduction wouldnt be noticed.

RE: whats a starter box
u cannot actually remove the pullstart without installing a special backplate assembly. If you want to remove the damaged spring and render the P/S useless, that is fine. But make sure the assembly itself is still secured properly to the back of the engine block.

RE: whats a starter box
Here's my bump box
Bump box = 30 dollars Airplane Torque starter = 20 dollars 3 Kyosho, timaya connectors = 6 bucks 2 1800 Nicd Batteries = 20 bucks so about 76 bucks The box was beatup... but I put stickers on it so it would hide the scars on the metal... and prevent the more rusting up :) http://www.imagestation.com/picture/...9/f9ed5f0f.jpg http://www.imagestation.com/picture/...0/f9ed5f0d.jpg http://www.imagestation.com/picture/...6/f9ed5f06.jpg |
