Cen MT

Well im just helping my friend pick out a truck.. He can only spend around 300$ He was looking towards stadium trucks, but this thing is just like a beefed up stadium truck.

How durable is it, and he wants to know if its all around better then a nitro rustler, for jumping and bashing.. He wonte listen to me i told him rustlers suck for bashing but anyways..

RE: Cen MT

The Cen is a great little MT it is very durable but has one week spot the diff cups which can be taken care of with a simple mod.

I own a savage and an MT-2. I love the mt-2's overall preformance.... Great truck lots of speed and big power... it seems mine gets alittle more powerfull everytime I use it.

I recommend the CEN MT-2.

I would get way in depth but I gatta get to school.... cya

RE: Cen MT

The Cen MT is a great truck, its easy to work on, easy to tune. And parts are very cheap. Its very durable, and can stand up to the abuse that a new owner will put it through. It also converts to a stadium truck by switching tires and the clutch bell. Plus, there are quite a few of us on this forum that can help your friend out if he has any problems.

Alright thanks guys. What are some good hop ups for the cen?

I own a savage too Sweetshoes90210, can your cen take everything your savage does or what?

Sweetshoes90210 05-21-2004 08:54 PM

RE: Cen MT

My CEN takes way more than my savage... I'm not sure what you go 21 or 25 but I got a 21 and it is nothing compared to my CEN. I am thinking of selling it and upgrading my CEN MT-2...

It is a great truck... But I think it is all opinion... I wish I had a video camera.[sm=tired.gif] I would do a comparson test and show you.....

Alright im talking to zach on msn right now.. He thinks the cen is just as big as the savage and mad force. Even though i told him the cen is barely bigger then a stadium truck. He just doesnt believe anything i say.. Can someone tell him that hes wrong? Thanks.

look at this pic (not mine)
the one on left is a cen, and on right is a Mammoth (bout same size as savage and madforce)

Why dosen't your friend try finding pictures on the net if he is having so much trouble believing you. http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_12_5.gif

RE: Cen MT

The cen is a cool little truck but quite small. The mammoth in that pic compared to the cen is quite a big difference. The mammoth is a litttle larger than the savage but not by much. As i see your looking more into the cheaper priced trucks assuming you are on a budget. Why not look into the xtm mammoth?

speed lives 05-22-2004 12:33 PM

RE: Cen MT

Yea i was trying to talk him into getting a mammoth but he thinks it sucks and its not very durable, But owell id rather not see him get the mammoth cause then hed have a sweeter truck then me.. [:o]

RE: Cen MT

Mxracer45 05-22-2004 01:21 PM

RE: Cen MT

RE: Cen MT

I don't know, he just believes the very 1st thing he sees, and then after that nothing can change his mind about it.. Witch is stupid on his part. He seen someone say the mammoth sucks and now he thinks the mammoth sucks just because 1 person said that lol.

RE: Cen MT

The cen seems to be a great truck but i have heard horrible storys about the diff cups. LIke every jump it does thet break[X(][:o]:([:@][:@][:'(][:'(][:-][:-][&:][&:]

sownare 05-23-2004 01:50 AM

RE: Cen MT

Yup. I bought a Cen MT2 for all the reasons stated by their ardent supporters.

I regret it. Diff cups broke after several jumps of 16 inches high. It's a hassle to work with.

Element 05-23-2004 07:10 AM

RE: Cen MT

I would say the first upgrade you do to the cen would be a new radio or the diff cup reinforcements

RE: Cen MT

element how fast does your cenn go leaned out and can u take like 20 ft jumps with the cen and i also heard that it has a weak suspension is that true

Element 05-23-2004 02:39 PM

RE: Cen MT

Mine goes right around the 46mph range. The only problem I have had with my suspension is the shock poped off the ball but a easy snap back in place and your ready to go again.

Now I have never attempted a 20ft jump but this is what I have done.
I built a table top at the bottom of my hill in the backyard its about 3 ft High.I was going down the hill and hitting the jump.I was getting about 6ft in the air. There is a little stream behind my backyard.I came down the hill hit the table top perfect but landed with the front wheels down a little to low I kart wheeled into the stream and landed up side down.the throttle got caught so water was spewing every where.I ran down and threw the truck onto the bank.I Took it into my shop and cleaned it up.No broken part no fried electronics.I was lucky but hat goes to show how durable the truck is.

mecky33 05-26-2004 02:02 PM

RE: Cen MT

I have taken about eight foot jumps from a field into a parking lot and it help up to that. I have also crashed, rolled, and jumped my truck so much its rediculous. Its a very durable truck and the only things that I have broken have been my own fault. the Cen is a good truck plain and simple.

RE: Cen MT

What is the difference between the cen mt and the cen mt-2 other than the paint job on the bodies

Sweetshoes90210 06-22-2004 10:26 PM

RE: Cen MT

Exactly the same except the bodys and date released. :D

I recomend the CEN MT-2. He wont regret it.

RE: Cen MT

yeah it's a good truck i recomed it also, by the way I leaned mine out a bit and got it clocked at 47.8mph.

Sweetshoes90210 06-23-2004 10:03 AM

RE: Cen MT

I clocked mine at 48.2 (it has alot of new parts...)

RE: Cen MT

I drove my mt2 full speed into a curb when I was trying to hit a jump but missed. The only thing that broke was my futaba throttle servo.

If you don't like the paint job, pull the decals and do your own thing. I've hit curbs, rolled, flipped and drove over parking space markers and haven't broken anything, yet. Probably need to do the diff mod before I tear up the diff cups.

RE: Cen MT

Too late, split one side off of the right front on a curb. Ordered a pair of replacements from OffShore Electrics on Saturday night and they were in the mail box tuesday afternoon. Great service. Now I need to do the reinforcement to them before they get installed.

i thought the mt was the 2wd one ant the mt2 was 4wd? mine took a beating b4 it finaly croaked it. hit a jump flat out ant the brake failed so it went all wrong in the air. have to say i was hard on it. can someone tell me how to modify the diffcups?

[email protected] 05-07-2007 01:37 PM

RE: Cen MT

I have the cen MT2 and it's ok. I did the diff cup mod and have not broke one since then, but I have broke a lot of parts, 4 spur gears shock suport brakets, shocks, tie rods and the list just keeps going. I replaced the engine with the O.S .18 and it is sick. I can't control it top end I have no clue how fast it is but I tell you this if I crash at full speed I break something. If I punch it from a stand still it's out of sight in like 6 seconds. I don't take it out much cuz I break something every time, I only pull it out to wow someone if need be. I run my MGT and savage X all the time it's just more fun to bash and not break something. I would not have bought the mt2 if I new it would be such a PITA with getting parts and fixing all the time. If you have the MT2 and do a engine upgrade get the O.S .18 cv-r it is awesome!

wow..i cant believe you are still complainting. I read your posts in the CEN forum and i must say that you are lucky CEN even try to work with you. You ran 4.5 gallon through a engine and also got dirts in it. Now you start talking smack about CEN everywhere because they wont warranty it for you? DOnt you think tis a little too ridiculous?
