Is this threadlocker good enough for trucks?

I got this at the hardware store, it says medium strength and doesnt mention heat resistance:
http://www.loctite.com/int_henkel/loctite_us/index.cfm?layout=6&productline=242&path=Assembly%2 0Products|Threadlockers|Removable%20Strength|242%C 2%AE%20Threadlocker%20Medium%20Strength

Would it be safe to use on the engine? Or even strong enough for parts that dont get hot?

Thanks

ya sure that fine, its what most of us use. make sure that u use the blue kind and not the red. it will resist heat and stuff and its fine for all metal use.

Phew I didnt know which to take between the blue and the red I took the blue. I took the blue one because it said for smaller screws.

So why is the red not good?

Thanks

The red loctite can hold too strongly. Chances are pretty good that if you use the red loctite, you will be stripping several bolt heads.

Tweety is absolutely right. A guy I know destryed his read UE VBS (about a 300 dollar part) because of red loctite, he was unable to get the screws out and they had to be drilled out just to get to his diffs. I use blue on every thing and it works great.

And what does it do?

I use red on the setscrews in CVA's and for the setscrews that attach the drive cups/CVA ends to the input gear shafts on all my 8th buggies. If you use a TINY amount it won't come out on it's own and can still be broken loose when you need it to come out.
