Which WASP to use?

I am building a Savage SS with extended chassis. Which WASP should I use, the .26 or the .28? How much difference is there really. Is there a better motor to use in this application for around the $200.00 level?

The .28 is made by a different company than the .26. Its pretty new, and hasnt earned a reputation yet. Neither good, or bad. I did read a few negative posts about the .28 on the Team Orion forum.

I'd go with the .26 you'll never need more power then that.

.26 is a picco (Same thing as ofna/picco outlaw .26) , pretty good quality and good power. If you purchase this engine, you need to be good at tuning. I have heard many stories of people who are not really good at tuning who are less than happy with their wasp .26. I have heard that the .28 is not as high of a quality engine, and it has some problems as I too have read on www.teamorion.com on their forums. I plan to purchase a picco .26 myself soon. I have had only good experiences with picco engines.

with the .26 if you run it rich, you will be fine. to tune it, after break-in, adjust the lowspeed and high speed needle in small, small increments. this engine is sensitive and hates being adjusted. they love to run rich, so you may not even have to tune it, plenty of power.

the .28 is less expensive, and made by a different company. the .26 is italian made and is quality material. i never liked my .28 [&o]

.28 is made by some japanese or chinese brand, not italian engineering. there is a huge difference, like comparing dodge to porsche or whatever.
