Hopefully a Quick answer
So, I am icking up a used T-maxx tonight from a friend. The only thing it needs to run is a one way bearing for the starter. He upgraded the Engine to a 2.5, I cant seem to get ahold of him and I wanted to get the bearing b4 I p[icked the truck up as I am heading to the Hoby Store right away. Will it be the same bearing from the Origional engine? Or am I way off?

RE: Hopefully a Quick answer
The Pro.15 and the 2.5r use different OWB's. They also use a different ez-start motor system. The ez-start controler works both though.
Is that what you needed to know? Dave By the way, the 2.5r screams in the old pro.15 version. |
RE: Hopefully a Quick answer
To be honest with you Dave, all he told me is the One-Way bearing for the 2.5 is shot, and needs to be cleaned after each start, so I should pick one up. Im heading to the Hobby store right now before I get the truck so I was hoping to pick one up. But I know nothing about this. I know my Evader inside out, but this is new to me, maybe I should just wait..lol

RE: Hopefully a Quick answer
If he already did the upgrade and had it running then all you need is a 2.5r OWB.
They are easy enough to replace, four screws hold the motor in and the throttle linkage, ez-start wires & fuel line, of course. Then four screws take the ez-start off, then the old bearing just slips off the shaft. My only tip is to be sure you note which way the old OWB grabs/freewheels so you get the new one on right. If memory serves the OWB's are not marked to distingush directions. Go ahead and pick it up, they're fun trucks. Dave |
