Thunder Kitty!
Check it out! Fresh off the UPS truck. I've been obsessing over this one for quite some time. Once i saw it at the races, i had to have one. Ultimate hobbies has a sweet price on these too. 549!!!! Anyway, here are some pics. I'll have more later.

Now i gotta take it all apart, and turn this Ready To Run, into a Ready To Race!!! :D |
RE: Thunder Kitty!
That is hands down one of the coolest RTR bodies I have ever seen. Let's see body off and some close ups.

RE: Thunder Kitty!
Oooh nice truck. Tell us how it is!:D

RE: Thunder Kitty!
Nice Thunder Chicken!!!! So, just how many classes are you running anyway? 2 is all I can handle. Between cornering, repairing my rides, trying to find stupid loaner transponders (club only just got the newer AMBrc last week), I don't have time for anything else. Could be different over a 2 day event though...
If that stadium truck is half as nice as my Thunder Tiger buggy, its going to be really sweet! Dales right too, darn cool RTR body! |
RE: Thunder Kitty!
is it almost the same size as the lsp?looks nice matt..im jealous again[:o]
|
RE: Thunder Kitty!
RacerX, im just planning on racing this in the Arena truck class, and my LST2 in standard MT. That will be in the RC Pro state series. Our local club racing has not split the classes yet. And i dont think they have plans for it. Personal transponders are a must have for racing. Then you never have to find a working transponder, or worry about getting back on charger rack after the race.
Badboy, this truck is a medium length chassis, with some shims to slightly adjust the wheelbase. The LSP has a bit longer chassis, and wheel base. Which is one of the main reasons i wanted this TTR. |
RE: Thunder Kitty!
Nice kitty. I can't wait to pet it:D I know what you mean with the ready to run. When I get my MGT it is coming apart before I ever run it to make sure it is put together the way I want it. Ready to run in my opinion is just more work for me and paying for cheap radio gear that I don't even want, except for the LST anyways.

RE: Thunder Kitty!
thermal nice and thanks for putting the thread up with all your truck pics, could i get pics of the ST1 with the lst next to it and pics with the body off thanks and good running

RE: Thunder Kitty!
whats the next inline for ur purchase?hehehe...i know u wont stop buying..:D

RE: Thunder Kitty!
Picco, i'll take a pic of it next to the LST2 in a bit. I've just been doing some setup, and installing my radio stuff. Oh, and Jake, it appears this radio box fits the stick pack better. The manual shows the hump style (which i ordered[:@]), but it seems the best fit i've found soo far is with a stick pack. Which im currently using that extra one you told me to try out. I'll return it whenever ya need it though.
Badboy, you're right... I will not stop buying. As for whats next? Well... I just dunno. I've spent alot in the past month. Im sure i'll be spending alot more getting things for this TTR. Servos, bump box, more wheels n' tires, and some stuff for my 18b. So for now i have no immediate plans for a new truck. Anyway guys, here are some pics! http://images.snapfish.com/3458%3A3%...3B778%3Bnu0mrj http://images.snapfish.com/3458%3A3%...4%3B7794nu0mrj The nice roomy radio box. http://images.snapfish.com/3458%3A3%...3C38%3A6nu0mrj The nice roomy radio box looking nicely stuffed. http://images.snapfish.com/3458%3A3%...4%3B7797nu0mrj Quick pic of the center diff brace, and linkage setup. http://images.snapfish.com/3458%3A3%...38%3A%3Anu0mrj http://images.snapfish.com/3458%3A3%...4%3B7799nu0mrj More pics to come. |

RE: Thunder Kitty!
Wooah. I think I want a truggy now!!:D But I don;t race. [&o]
|
RE: Thunder Kitty!
Man you lucky duck...I want mine more, but I'm still forced to wait...GRRRRRR
How are the stock tires/wheels? Can you fit MAXX or 40 series on the stock wheels? GRRRR...I want mine more now. Hey and you got my color! |
RE: Thunder Kitty!
Look like 3-3.5mm shock towers- cast though, not machined. Guess when they're that thick, it doesn't matter!
Love the upper steering brace. Surprised the front diff brace isn't beefy like the back. Seems like there is enough real estate for a beefier brace up front too for more rigidity. I like how the rear wing is tied right to the rear brace and not just the rear shock tower. Is it a pillow ball front suspension? I don't see adjustable tie rods on the front upper arms for camber adjustment. Probably pillow ball. Can't imagine a setup like that not having adjustable front camber. I like the brake/throttle linkage. That is a great setup. Spring proportioning > fuel line tubing. :) Boy, if you have a loose track, you can race on those tires out of the box. Nubs are a little tall for high traction situations but otherwise ready to go. Looks great Matt! |
RE: Thunder Kitty!
I was thinking about this truck....she is a beauty. Looks fast too!!! and that body.....wow!!!!
Matt, are you going to stay with the single speed??? or go for the 2 speed option??? (Personally, I like the single speed setups now that I have some experiance with them) |
RE: Thunder Kitty!
Looks just like my EB4 S3 with a truggy kit! How Awesome! Thanks for the pic's!
|
RE: Thunder Kitty!
Ok, lets post some pics. Dale, heres a pic just for you! Since you mentioned the shock towers.
http://images.snapfish.com/3458%3A53...3A%3A934nu0mrj Ya, they are THICK!!!! And lets see... Picco wanted to see this next to the LST2. http://images.snapfish.com/3458%3A53...6979%3B8nu0mrj http://images.snapfish.com/3458%3A53...79%3B%3Anu0mrj Now lets go inside the truck... Diffs are incredibly easy to access. Rear diff access http://images.snapfish.com/3458%3A53...79%3B%3Anu0mrj Nice cut to those gears. http://images.snapfish.com/3458%3A53...23694638nu0mrj http://images.snapfish.com/3458%3A53...%3A99%3Bnu0mrj Front diff, accessed the same way. Incredibly easy. http://images.snapfish.com/3458%3A53...69463%3Bnu0mrj http://images.snapfish.com/3458%3A53...23694643nu0mrj And the center diff, very simple as well. http://images.snapfish.com/3458%3A53...%3A9%3A9nu0mrj http://images.snapfish.com/3458%3A53...23694647nu0mrj And guys, i promise... One day i'll learn how to take those macro pics just right, so they dont look pitch black. lol :D |
RE: Thunder Kitty!
Oh, and Doda, this truck is staying single speed. I will run a nice high RPM, high end motor for our outdoor races.
|
RE: Thunder Kitty!
Nice truggy. Personally I'm saving my cash for a Hellfire[:'(]
|
RE: Thunder Kitty!
what size is the stock engine? it would look even better with a Nova TOP in there
|
RE: Thunder Kitty!
it is a .28 size engine.
Thermal, all I can say is, "MEEEOWWW!!!!!" :D |
RE: Thunder Kitty!
That is a really well built truck. Looks to be very sturdy.
|
RE: Thunder Kitty!
That's the same engine that's in the new MGT right?
|
RE: Thunder Kitty!
