Starting problems in the snow?
I water proofed (baloons and silicone around the electronics) the monster truck and then took it out in the snow. After about five minutes the engine stalled and it won't start again. does anyone know what's happened and how i can fix it?

RE: Starting problems in the snow?
Have you checked the usual stuff - glow plug, fuel getting to the engine, glow plug ignitor etc?

RE: Starting problems in the snow?
well i've only run about 3/4 of a gallon through it. Would the glow plug be bad already? Just changed the batteries of the igniter, and blew out the engine with an air compressor.

RE: Starting problems in the snow?
wait, FUEL in the engine could hurt it???

RE: Starting problems in the snow?
no, he is asking if any fuel is getting to the engine, you need fuel to go to the engine obviosly for it to run. If no fuel is getting to the engine (which is what lstracer was asking) the engine will not run. This could be b/c of there being air leaks somwhere in the fuel lines. Replace the fuel lines. Try to prime it and see if the fuel runs to the carb.

RE: Starting problems in the snow?
and yes.. the plug could easily have gone within 3/4 of a gallon, so check that too.

RE: Starting problems in the snow?
I checked it and it still won't start. if there aren't any bubbles and fuel seems to be running smoothly through it do u think it could still be broken?

RE: Starting problems in the snow?
I checked it as in, i replaced it.

RE: Starting problems in the snow?
Was the old plug wet when you took it out? And what did the coil in it look like?

RE: Starting problems in the snow?
I got out a new plug and checked the igniter to make sure it made the glow plug "glow". Turns out, it didn't so i think i'm going to get a new ingniter. It kinda stinks tho it's only 4 days old. (yes i did change the batery)

RE: Starting problems in the snow?
I run my mt ins freezeing weather all the time with no probs. I did have a Tmaxx that would vapor lock on me sometimes though. The fuel line was right against the cooling head and when the engine got hot the fuel would vaporize and get locked up. Also when the engine dies does it rev up and die or bog down and die>? If it revs up that means its running out of gas and if it bogs down it is getting flooded(too cold etc.)
