E-Maxx performance
So hows the e-maxx stock performance?
What is it's top speed? How does it compare to a nitro? Would it be a good basher? Would it be possible to get it as powerfull as a nitro? If yes what would you need and how much would it cost? Would it be havier than a nitro? |
RE: E-Maxx performance
So hows the e-maxx stock performance? Pretty good for an electric truck.
What is it's top speed? 22-23 mph stock motors on 12 cells, around 30 mph stock motors on 14 cells How does it compare to a nitro? Nitro is better because you can just refuel and keep going. You would need 6-8 battery packs and a dual battery charger to allow you to run it like you could a nitro. Would it be a good basher? yes Would it be possible to get it as powerfull as a nitro? If you go brushless it would be as fast or maybe faster than nitro. But you could also put that kind of money into nitro and be better yet. If yes what would you need and how much would it cost? http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXBLB8&P=7 that would cost you $300-350 by the time you upgrade your drivetrain to handle the extra power Would it be heavier than a nitro? Compared to a similar size truck like a T-maxx, yes. Dual batteries add a lot of weight. |
RE: E-Maxx performance
electrics are great for climbing and rock crawling (esp if you gear them low) because unlike a gas engine almost 100% of that motors torque is on tap from 0 rpm. For overall top speed, nitros seem to be the much easier way to go though, although they also require more maintenance and patience :)
