Do pipes really help?

I used to drag race at our local track and exhaust systems (headers, mandrel work, and exhaust) helped from 5-20 HP-with no cat).

My question: I have a T Maxx 3.3 and a Revo 2.5R. I love the 3.3 power and want to buy a new 3.3 for the Revo.

But, if I just put a pipe into the 2.5R, will the power gain be substantial?

Thanks for the help guys. It's a flippin' pipe. How much (noticeable) power will I attain?

With a 2 stroke engine a tuned pipe will make more difference than with a 4 stroke.
Do a google search on 2 stroke pipes, its quite complicated how they come up with the pipe diameters and lengths, but it has to do with the frequency of the pipe and it forces more air into the cyllinder.
